You have NO idea how helpful this was for me. I’ve seen a ton of videos on Shadow carbs, but everyone skips past the hoses and where they disconnect/connect or don’t show a good view. I bought a 96 VT1100 with the lines stripped and it’s been a scavenger hunt for the fuel line connection location. Great filming too.

Great video good camera work and good commentary. I was going to buy one of these things until I saw this video. I will go for the later VT750 Honda that has only 1 carburettor on the side like a Harley and is much much easier to get off. You just double your trouble with 2 carbs stuck down between the jugs like this. A big thumbs up for this video.

One huge tip for those that want trouble free carb operation - Always take advantage of float bowl DRAIN screws to remove any trace of water accumulation that is created in fuel tanks. Fuel treatment is a plus for water removal as well. Once a week, was always the default. Always capture what is drained in clean clear jar to closely inspect fuel sample. Water will always gather at lowest point, and moving jar will show the water as a puddle in the bottom of jar within the couple ounces of fuel. Storing machine over winter without draining carbs and protective additive, will be expensive rebuild come spring.

What is the little tank you removed under your gas tank? Mine is missing that. Is it an overflow of some sort.

When you say put the choke on before removing do you mean choke on (down position on handlebar) or choke off (up or riding position)

At the 1:16 part of the video....what is that line on the right side of the fuel tank? You got your petcock on the left...what is that other one....as you are looking at the video screen it's at top middle...just sticking out....it looks like a secondary fuel line or something

When you say the choke is all the way in before disconnecting it, do you mean to put the choke in the full on position on the handlebar?

Hey, what's up, buddy. I'm facing some problems with my Shadow 95' vt1100cs. The CDI seems to be brocken, so I wonder if is there any way to change for some of other similar motorcycle CDI with lower coast. It's too expensive here in Brasil. Can you help with any idea?!!

finished in 10 minutes. is it a good idea every 2-5,000 mi. dump some carb cleaner like sea foam in the carbs for 20 mins. or so to give them a good cleaning. also, my 01 spirit 1100. when the key is turned on I never hear the fuel pump start, totally quiet. is this normal...any mod worth improving these bikes performance....thanks...jim...
@lmdetect7 жыл бұрын
BlackCat 56 Just add sea foam every few tanks to keep the carbs clean.
