Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have the same issue except it makes a grinding noise when it goes sideways, but I think the fix is a bit out of my comfort zone. Still love my ST.

Pretty easy to do. The electric ratchet helped with the side nuts. Try not to drop them down into the fairing.

Thanks for the vid. I have a similar problem but caused by impact flying into my windscreen on highway. I’m either in the same situation OR it’s a bent bracket. If a bent bracket that would require metal work or a different part than the actual assembly unit for windscreen right? Appreciate your advice.

If the cables are good you may be able to just do some metal work.

I sold the bike. I would check signal to the motor to make sure the switch is working before doing anything else.

Did you apply any lube/ grease to ease operation of sliders ?

Yes, but the broken slider was the issue.

@@TepcoCycleRepair was great tip well presented was just asking as sometimes lube gathers dust n dirt and compounds problem into gritty paste so was not sure. Just bought a pan and am enjoying videos like yours on how to keep mine in good condition without garage bills. Thanks again for great tip

Screws are not phillips. they are JIS. No screws on this bike are phillips. Just an FYI

Yes, correct Phillips is just an easier understood slang for all cross screws.
