Honda Talon Upper Door Panel installation. How to install 1000R 1000X

Thanks for sharing, and for the heads up re: the interference with the mirrors. That's probably a show stopper for me. BTW - To be honest, I have to admit that I absolutely cringed at the thought of someone installing these new upper doors on such a dirty machine. Think i'd have spent a little time cleaning it up first, but hey, maybe that's just me. Steve

stuff I did have to remove the mirrors. I installed the door and took it right back off because it was the middle of summer. Maybe some aftermarket mirrors will work with them. I ride almost everyday because I’m retired, so I do get tired of washing it, down to about once a week. The doors are great, except removing the mirrors

I'm thinking about getting these because I have the Honda rear panel and none of the aftermarket upper door options seem to cover the opening that the Honda rear panel leaves in the lower corners. These will get covered in mud in WV in the Fall and Spring, and I'm concerned with how well they would clean up. Have you gotten these dirty yet, or is your area all snow covered by the time you install and use them? I'm concerned the black framing will stain. Any thoughts? Thank you sir!

Ride Red WV Hi! I’ve had them muddy numerous times. They do clean up very well, it is a high quality material. They seal the door area very well. The two things I don’t like about them; 1: the window scratches pretty easy from bushes/tree branches. 2: I can’t use the side mirrors with them. Other than that, they’re great, especially in cold weather.

Will side mirrors work with those upper doors? I have the Honda oem glass windshield and would like to add the Honda fabric upper doors. I would really like to keep my side mirrors though.

2ibirddog It depends on which mirrors you have. The oem mirrors don’t work with the upper door panels.

Hey thanks for the reply. I did not think my side mirrors will work. Love seeing the improvements you have made on your talon. I have just had mine for a couple weeks and have done some of the same things you have done while I am waiting for our relentless rain to stop in Washington. Inferno heater going in tomorrow. Keep it up, great job on your videos.

2ibirddog Thanks for watching! Glad the videos are helpful! I was able to use my oem mirrors, I just mounted them lower on the roll bar. I have to lean towards the drivers door to see it, but it’s better than nothing. I can’t see the passenger mirror at all, but the passenger can use the mirror if they lean a little towards the door. I was disappointed original Honda accessories are capable with one another!

It sucks living in areas that are way below freezing, you can’t just wash it whenever you want. That’s why it’s dirty.
