You are an absolute star! Thought I might have an expensive problem on my hands until I watched your video. Cost nothing to fix following your instructions. Many thanks for sharing, hope to see many more.

So glad that video was useful. It’s a pretty nuanced thing. Happy you found it.

Thanks Brian. My 71CL copper piece was bent upward as well. It's amazing that it will make contact in such a dirty environment.
@KeepOnWrenching3 жыл бұрын
Yeah...I wonder how those get bent like that? Some dialectic grease would be a bad addition. Great tip from a previous comment.

This helped explain why my neutral light is half lit while in first gear. Thanks for taking the time to demystify the inner workings of the neutral indicator, Brian.

Dialectic grease on contact points insures that it works

Great video. I have a 750cb. Neutral light works fine on a cold start but after I warm it up, it goes off and won't start in neutral. So when the engine is warm I need to hold the clutch in to start. Must be dirt that warms up and gums some sort of switch like this? Otherwise I'm baffled.

What might be the least "invasive" method of getting to that part of the engine to check that contact? I have a 1963 Superhawk CB77. Such a great video that de-mystifies how this works. Thank you!!

Just gotta pull that front sprocket cover.

Great video. The Neutral Light on my restored 1971 cb500K0 is staying on so that clip-like part must not be making contact. Now I just need the little rubber cushion that goes in the rear light mount assembly and I think I am done.

Hi, thank you for your video! I have an issue with my neutral switch on my Honda CB300R, I would like to check it if the condition (washer, etc.) is okay and maybe clean it. My question is, if I unscrew the switch (different switch as on your bike) will oil come out? I saw in an other video that they lay the bike on the side before unscrewing the switch. Some do it on the side stand, there is no specific information about that process! maybe you can help me out. Thank you!

I’ve never worked on one of those. No clue. When in doubt, tilt it a bit?

mine was so worn i purchased a new one the bike being 53 years old ebay was the only place to find the parts,the round rubber piece was around 15 dollars but the metal piece that the wire goes to was 100 dollars,so spend the money on it or don't ride the bike,i had no choise to purchase it.
