This is ballistic we had a works express factors parts carrier at a garage I worked at was a 1.0 litre but still rapid had the best gearbox ratios for such a light car . This sounds mental think I would want good breaks though and maybe a cage and more supportive sests.

Not shure if that type of civic had the B16? Something says to me that was the 1800? I had a CRX type 2 with B16 vtec.. First productioncar with 10hp per 100cc. But that was about 1000kg, this one is around 600/650? And they do not have the suspension and brakes the crx had.. But it does look like a box of fun😆

@montage12333 Google it. Almost every single Honda engine ever made was an interference engine. There's only a handful of them that's not and i think it was a pair of V6 models. Again, no B series are non-interference whatever you might think. In some rare cases while idling, interference engines can actually handle a timing belt snapping but it's a huge gamble in the end.

This is funny and I had my fair share building and driving AXes when I was still into cars. But to put a standard B16 in this is kind of useless; more cost and work than the brands own engines. The Citroën/Peugeot TU5J4 1.6 16V drops in with little changes, is 130hp stock (yes, specced at 118, but it almost always has more) and will give you this 160hp and more torque with just a few mods. It als revs to 7500-8000 rpm, depending on how you build it exactly. If you're fitting a B18C or a B20 build, then it suddenly makes sense: the 180hp a simple B18C starts off is about the maximum you can get from the PSA 1.6 16V. Also, lads, two things: 1. Do this stuff on tracks/trackdays, not on the open road 2. FIX YOUR BRAKES. Nobody is looking forward to clean up the mess.

Do you honestly think a 2.0d would keep up with a feather weight car running a b16? A b16 with 160hp in a car at 800kg gives it a power to weight ratio of 200hp per tonne By contrast my 340hp car weighs 1.5 tonne and only has 26hp more per tonne.

These AXs are SO light that even the AXGT only had a 1.4ltr 8 valve with 86bhp but weighed less than 700kg! So double the power should make it quite quick. These are NOT GOOD in crashes though, like a Renault 5 GT Turbo if you jack it up and open a door the bloody feeble chassis twists and the door won't shut properly! Bit scary!
