Great set of videos. Very helpful for me. I'm tearing down my 91 xr250r starting tomorrow. All to replace the countershaft oil seal. Keep up the good work.

Great iluatration but i did not see you set the decompressor triger back when you where putting the cover. Maynee you dont use it, but it makes it easy to start when ti works right. No prosess of assambky without all the crazy chat that other folks do was kind of theraputic, i rederence it to all my students as you got the gift of making things easy to understand. 🎉

Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean a lot to me. I try to make content for people that I would personally enjoy watching. As for decompression, I don't remember if I engaged it. I still have the engine, but I have not used it since I made this video. I do have an XR250R and I only use the top decompression part that connects to the lever on the handlebar, the bottom of the decompression is not connected. The cable was missing when I got the bike and I never replaced it. Thank you again :)

It would be great to have see how it holds up under use. Do you have an idea for an update?
@dunemaster3179 Жыл бұрын
no, idea about the update, it's been sitting in my garage ever since I put it together. I've been thinking of putting it into like a pit bike or a small Mx bike, but who knows when that will happen

Refreshing to watch someone work with simple tools and using their hands you can't get a fill of your work with gloves; I get put off sometimes watching guys that don't want to get their hands dirty in a &1000000 shop.

You need to invest in a bench grinder with a brush so you can clean those parts better.. rust on the splines.. but I get what your doing.. oh well

Hey man! I’m in need of help with this! I have the exact same engine and I cannot get my kickstart to return. Brand new spring and all. It’ll kick down and won’t return unless you pull it back up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
@DJ-hy8wf Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have the spring mounted incorrectly. The spring needs to be fixed in position so that winding pressure builds when you kick it down. There is a spot on the case the spring mounts to .

Hay I have a question my oil pump don’t turn easy is that a bad?

I believe, it's been a couple of years since I looked, you can measure the clearances with the feeler gauge to see if it's worn out. I think the procedure is in the manual.
