You are correct! The new system runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and the older 2017 systems runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Right now there is no way to update the software in the old Odyssey to match the new one. They could add at a later date but I doubt it

Right now there is currently no way to update to the new OS. This could be added eventually but automakers are very hit or miss on updates (particularly big ones). Hope this helps!

Is this the same information as came on the CD I was given with the car? Computers typically don't come with CD drives and its a hassle to get out the separate drive. Secondly, please use arrow pointers..this guys fingers cover the button he is pressing.

Honda hasn't said anything officially about being able to update to the new HondaLink on older models. Hopefully they will, but there is a good chance they won't!

This app is such an obvious afterthought, it's hard to believe it came from a huge Japanese company. Geofence: you enter a location where you want to be notified when the car drives out of a 0.25mi radius. Well, it does that, but there's no push notification. So you never know it happened unless you sign in every one minute while your car is parked to see if it moved or not. Alarm function: their marketing blurb says they have it, but without push notifications, no one seems to know EVEN AT THE HONDA SUPPORT SITE how, or even if, it works. So, you're paying $110 per year to be able to start your car from your phone, but no security features. Whoopee. Honda has a loooong way to go to match OnStar or Ford's online services. Thank you Honda for MAGA.

_Truly, truly a piece of garbageware. Geofence notifications, if they come through at all, are not by push notification but by email only, and even then have a 90 min delay at least. Will not subscribe but instead put the money toward buying a GPS tracker

Basically, NO ONE IN THE WORLD knows how to overwrite the FM presets? So if you move to a different city, you're screwed.. Stuck with the preset channels from the last city you lived in. Greeeeeeaaaaaaat. Wish I had known that before spending 40K on the Honda. But hey, we have a calculator folks! Woohoo! >:[

Team RCAV Manually dial in a new station and then press and hold a preset button. Good luck!

select any station you wish to have and keep holding the current preset station for a few seconds and it will reset. Worked for me.

you just replace a current preset station with a new one, Go to the new station you want, hold down the preset button you want to put that new station on, you will hear a beep or very brief interruption in the broadcast content, and then station will continue broadcasting, That button will now be the location for the new station you selected.
