@dvamateur8 жыл бұрын
Alex Choi Oh well, it's more in the rear than up front. You see, if Volkswagen made the new beetle with rear engine, it could be a beautiful car. Sort of a mini 911. If Fiat stick to their roots and make the 500 rear engined, it could also be desirable. But no, they had to reuse the Golf and Panda platforms to save money, and we end up with neither fish no fowl. The Fiat is not too bad, but the Beetle is quite awfully disproportioned. Okay, what else do we have on American market, oh, the Smart... Don't even get me started on that one. Of course the manufacturers will give the bullshit about oh front wheel drive is better for snow, or it won't meet safety regulations with the engine in the back. Guess what, Japanese are capable of passing by all that bullshit and make a modern car that is actually beautiful.
@realAlexChoi8 жыл бұрын
Well, I've seen some S660s outside of Japan, so there's a chance that we might get it.

Alex Choi Yeah, I heard a rumor about the S1000. But I also saw S1000 interior sketches with big ass ugly touchsreen dead center of the dash. I really like the S660 as it is. Hell, I can even drive the right hand version of it in U.S.
@realAlexChoi8 жыл бұрын
Those interior sketchs aren't official (I hope).And I also like the S660 as it is, but the NCAP, NHTSA people will make it so that it will have larger body panels, wider tyres, etc But hey, we could always import S660 body panels from Japan!.

Loved the tour! I own a Beat here in the UK. It's stunning. Had my first Civic in '90 after several rubbishy UK produced attempts. A Jaguar in 2002 proved to be a waste of money requiring a new gearbox under warranty. Replaced eventually with another Honda! The Jag salesman proudly said upon my costly purchase, 'you've not had the 'Jaguar experience' from a garage yet!' True but sitting on a leather Chesterfield sofa waiting for yet another situation to be rectified is alien to me! I proudly own 3 Hondas today. My garage knows me for buying cars and having them serviced and not for returning faulty goods!

Hey Jason, that was a awesome treat! I didn't know this place existed and that Honda had all these funky cars. I am a loyal fan of HONDA since buying my first car in 1975. My first being a little red Civic, I loved it and it was so fun to drive. In 1982 I bought a new Accord, Hatch back and loved that too! In 1995 I fell for the new V-6 Accord with all the bells and whistle and I still have it parked out front in the driveway, it's 21years old and still drives great. Today I'm looking to purchase my fourth Honda. The 2016 Accord's body style caught my eye and last month I went out to test-drive it and fell in love once again. Then my daughter suggested I test drive the Pilot too. She has two children under the ages of 4 and I take care of my mother now and when we all go out we're forced to take two vehicles in order to have her & husband, kids and grams with us. I was quite impressed with the Pilot's comfortable ride and the third row bench seats were pretty decent... I think the decision has been made and now to search for the best deal. I've been on the computer learning as much as I can to make my decision about which trim, which is most likely going to be the Touring and I that's how I came across your video. Perhaps I'll get some time to make a road trip out to Tennessee and check out Lane Motor Museum... thx for sharing your fun video!

Honda brakes often, very often.....worst Japanese/american on the road , competing with nissan........Toyota is the best japanese American made car, hands down......is the only one that "could" compete with BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, ........the reason honda has become a bad average car is because is almost and completely American. honda used to be a good car back in the 80's 90's.....any foreign car made that falls into American hands goes down in quality........some BMW, Mercedes and Audis are being made now in NC and SC.....good luck..!!!! and u can see the difference , clearly ..im a MBW person and i already experienced that.....so u have to make sure now that the model u like is really German.........otherwise is 40% German, 20%Mexican , 15% Canadian and the rest American, sometimes hungarian or Austrian which is a good thing..........

S600 "Individual throttle bodies." They are carburetors dang it! Pet peeve when car guys can't tell a carburetor from a throttle body.
@techdavey34868 жыл бұрын
+atsernov Those Keihin carbs can really make a dent in one bank balance as unlike Strombergs it is not possible to buy the rubber diaphragm on its own. I heard this sad story from the owner of a 1200 Kwacker who was only getting about fifteen mpg. Allegedly one has to buy the complete throttle slide which used to cost £120 per unit (£480 for four!) The bodge fix was condoms and superglue! Possibly a good engineer could reverse-engineer the carbs and make the seven shillings and sixpence Stromberg diaphragms fit. Screws instead of rivets would be better and would make the throttle slides repairable. Bike bits are so ludicrously expensive that it is cheaper to run a Zephyr Six!
@atsernov8 жыл бұрын
On the other hand I've never had a Keihin diaphragm fail. Not saying they don't, just that the design is fairly robust. But yes, they should have been made serviceable.

How did you get the S660 into the States? Show and Display I'm guessing? You don't know how excited I am knowing there is one here.
@TaylorWhiteVlogs8 жыл бұрын
+OneTallOrder That's exactly what I was thinking.
@arixant8 жыл бұрын
+OneTallOrder it doesnt fall under show and display since its a mass produced vehicle with no historical significance at all. its illegally imported and just never driven.
@TaylorWhiteVlogs8 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the Tennesse plates actually belong to the car, and what significance the "DL-" prefix on the plate has.
@arixant8 жыл бұрын
probably arent assigned to that car. taken off some other car im sure.

Honda Pro Jason, I've been going here for years. I have my favorites. What was your favorite car there?

that's a tough question I think the car that I was most excited to see was the S660 but the biggest surprise was the LN360

How did you get an imported 2015 car licensed in the us?
@zacharyfernandez7 жыл бұрын
Because it's illegal to import cars into the US under 25 years old with few exceptions.
@juno9807 жыл бұрын
dont think its licenced
@Uber1337Nesss7 жыл бұрын
Actually might be imported for show purposes, adding it's a museum.
@Doesyou7 жыл бұрын
Maybe but generally cars imported with that law have to be super limited in production. Not sure if the rules are different for museums
@xidropkillzx32467 жыл бұрын
The gtr and others were not allowed because of safety standards in the us and emission standards. This car is built for low emission and if saftey standardized could be imported completely legally

Very interesting! I live in Santa Rosa, California and the first Honda car sold in the USA (a 600 hatchback) is here on display at the original dealer -- Manly Honda, They were a motorcycle dealer when the call came-in that their first car had been unloaded 50 miles away in Oakland, so the sales manager HITCHHIKED TO PICK IT UP. The buyer traded it in a few years later and they've had it on display ever since. It has NOT been restored.

just for clarification it is definitely pronounced K not Key.
@Rainbowrobb8 жыл бұрын
+Dakota Nord Which is confusing for Americans since Chrysler had the "K" car platform. Is it a class of like... sub 1000 cc motors? k=1000 type of thing?
@jovialvibes59628 жыл бұрын
K as in it's pronounced like K. It is spelled in English letters like this - kei. And yes all 3 cylinder engines, small cars. Like real small. We actually got one here through a rally sponsorship I believe. The Subaru Justy.

I remember the qa 50's. I grew up in Venice fl, headquarters and winter quarters of ringling bros, both shows, red and Blue shows so little people ( midgets at the time) and many retired around there ( and also Riverview fl) but most rode those qa 50's and also miniture motorcycles with 4 speeds and went highway speeds. Much of this is bringing back memories.
@ronaldreed76986 жыл бұрын
Whats interesting is many fabricators are putting motocycle engines in very small vehicles although not geared towards economy, they're putting 150 HP engines in them with redlines over 12,000 RPM so they freaken move, tears in your ears fast.
