I got a PaperShoot camera for my birthday and just put it together today. The specs have gotten better, its a 16MP lens, you can use Alkaline batteries (stated on the package), and you can use an SD card with up to 128GB. I did get the paper version, and it came with a matching paper strap. The price is more reasonable now, at $120 USD for a basic bundle (camera board and case only - including MicroUSB cable, paper strap, plastic screws). I got this as an "upgrade" from an Instax camera, so photography is something I'm just getting into and it's perfect for what I want. Just a friendly update for changes that are slowly happening :)

As someone who does film photography as a hobby I found this camera really interesting. But also as a product designer I can agree with the cons too even without having to buy the camera. Design wise this product seems like it’s still in a concept phase, definitely needs a little more development. But for their target market for now I think they’re still okay, as it wasn’t intended for professional use.

I appreciate that at the end you added that you do not regret buying this camera even after all of the cons. mine should be arriving in the mail soon and I'm apprehensive about using it. I guess I'll found out if I enjoy it or not. Im glad you mentioned all of the additional costs, that was unexpected for me. I already ordered the camera before I watched your video so now im a bit nervous

You're welcome! I actually just posted an updated review yesterday on my channel after using it for 6 months. Overall, I don't regret buying the camera at all. It's very fun going out and taking photos with it. I'm sure you'll love it! Although my cons list might seem longer, the pros have certainly outweighed the cons. I hope you enjoy your camera :)

To me, the price is out of question. For more than 200 CAD you can get a nice little digital camera from a renowned brand that has a display and much more functionality, is dust-proof and waterresistant and that makes much better pictures.
@itslikelykelly3 жыл бұрын
Those are two very different experiences in my opinion. This gives a film look to the photos but it’s a digital camera so it’s very convenient and I personally like going out and taking photos and not looking at a screen and going home to see what kind of pictures I got. It’s really fun but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea of course :) not worth it for a lot of people but for me I don’t regret it, it’s been fun to use.
@itonuoro38133 жыл бұрын
@@itslikelykelly I can totally understand your point of view. The reason why I watched your video was, that I am looking for a very simple digital camera, that is very easy to use and that I can carry every day with me in the trouser pocket. Only one button to use it - wonderful! No scrolling through lots of menus - great! No complicated mechanics - I love it! But the way this camera was realized by the manufacturer disappointed me a lot. To my opinion, an "every-day-carry-arround-camera" has to be dust- and water-tight and shock-proved. When I want to take a photo I do not want to think about the question: Does the weather (sand flying arround, water pouring down) possibly damage my camera? And I do not want to think instandly about the carefull storage of my camera. There is a bunch of keys in my trouser pocket and the camera should (like my mobile phone) withstand that without problems. I thank you very much for your informative video, it was very helpful for me! I have learned, that the camera basically is very interessting, but it does not look very practical for every-day-use. So, your video gave me a solid foundation for my decision to look for something else!

Great video. Just wanted to touch base on some of your cons and add a few updates/clarifying info. 1. The paper case is the water resistant part, since it’s stone paper. 2. They are working on a piece that you put into your camera that will allow you to take videos without having a power bank. They’re also working on adding flash to the camera! 3. There actually is an error message when your SD card is full. The same one you got in the beginning. Error noise and flashing blue lights mean the battery is dead or the SD card is full.
@itslikelykelly2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I did an update video already. But what I was trying to say is sure the case itself is water resistant but what are the chances of water not getting inside all the openings, and ruining the camera. So I wouldn't use "water resistance" as a pro for the camera. I did get that piece for my camera :). It's unfortunately far too small so I lost it. I wish they had built in video settings instead. I didn't get an error message when my memory card was full unfortunately. Not sure if my camera is just not working properly but I never got one. It made the regular shutter noise every time I took a photo even after the memory card was full. I hope this clarifies what I was saying or helps update the vid :)

4:30 I like your concern about the seeds. Good seeds for Canada might not be so good down here in Texas and vice versa. I'd expect a company that's presenting a sustainable image would pick something benign, but as you said, it would be nice to know for sure. We're riddled with invasives in Texas. Johnson grass, emerald ash borers, Japanese honeysuckle, giant salvinia, some of my relatives from Arkansas. It's a freakin' nightmare! Anyway, it was a good review of an interesting product I'd never heard of until just now, so thanks. Liked and subbed.

My dude, thanks for this video. You found yourself a sub. Cheers!!! ✌😀 10:00 I agree on that, it should be a threaded lens instead. 10:27 P.S. The squeaking does not affect me, I don't even hear it... oh yeah so it's not weatherproof. 13:07 209USD 😵 14:00 So I guess it's gonna be a rule of thumb that we flash the flash before going out and using it... 🤔 Just making sure we got an empty SDCard. There should be upgraded firmware like beeps for Full Memory, 50% to low battery or better an LED that shows battery level. 16:22 Straps... 😑 I know how that feels... So I delved into paracording. ☝🤓 It's cheaper plus you get to make your own design and colours. 🥰 17:26 oh just like in Instax camera, the viewfinder sees different from what the lens sees. I guess we adapt to it and practice much and accept the fact no framing will be perfect. 19:22 I like the imperfections which make them perfect... Lomography ❤
@itslikelykelly2 жыл бұрын
Great points :). Also they are potentially going to release a flash attachment within the next couple months. The paracording sounds awesome!

This product seems more like a prototype like the first initial designs kinda. I think it has a lot of room for improvement. I mean error sound but now knowing is it the memory card full or battery run out? The actual digital camera is very specific and I think this is not really a professional camera. But I saw someone was using it and it generated interest because of how it look, minimalist and also they use a lot of nice fashionable designs to make it look unique and different from other cameras. I am thinking of getting one but after your review, I think I will buy a normal digital camera instead with full functions.
