I use to believe I could live anywhere in the world. Then reality hit and I realized as a Black person we have to be a bit more mindful/cautious of the countries we reside in because even in 2023 we're still not welcomed/accepted in certain places. "Live life urgently."that's so true, especially when you've experienced people passing, but I overthink everything and it stops me from trying anything😢. That's so true sis. However, some places might also surprise you in regards to how welcoming they are to all kinds of people. So I always try to keep an open mind, but with caution. Yes, let's stop overthinking everything and live a little bit more ;)

I’m glad you did this video because I’m in the U.S. and work is not not an option for us. We must work or we will be homeless. I have been rethinking living here because I feel like a pawn in a game. Everything is work. It’s so bad because we don’t have time to enjoy life - some of us. America is a very capitalistic country. I commend you for traveling and living in different countries. If possible, I would like to hear how you moved to America, that process, and how gained confidence to relocate to an entire different country/environment. I would like your experience because I may one day use it as my own to leave America.

I totally feel you and I hear the same thing from different Americans. The US is a great country in the sense that it has many opportunities that other countries might not have. But oftentimes it comes at a cost. For me the work-life balance that I enjoy here in The Netherlands is very valuable to me. So yeah, I think it really depends on what you want in life. In regards to my journey, like I said in the video I moved to the US for school. After graduating it was too expensive for me to continue my studies there so that brought me to The Netherlands. Since Curaçao is technically part of the Netherlands it was an obvious choice for me.

Hey Thessely! Thanks for sharing with us. Its nice to get to know you. I can relate to just going to work and coming home. Taking life too seriously. Although I still do take life too seriously, lately i have wanted to do something I am passionate about. My grandfather also use to say: dont put off til tomorrow what you can do today. That has stuck we me to this day.

I definitely relate to you as far as organized religion. I grew up in the church or Christ and I’m glad I got away from that. And it’s crazy how all those ppl I knew are now wilding out since I’ve left. Like everything I thought they were about was a lie. I would love to know how u adjusted as a woman of color to the Netherlands. In the US I think we have a different way of viewing living in those places bc of history in the states, so I would love to know how it was for you.

I’m glad you relate about the religion part. With regards to living in The Netherlands for me it’s a little bit different. Curaçao is a former colony of The Netherlands. We speak the language and we have a dutch nationality. So I felt like I had the right to be there. I tried to mingle as much as possible with locals, learn their culture better etc. Every so often I encounter a jackass but in general I feel respected and like I belong. It won’t ever get the feeling of home like I feel in Curaçao but for me it’s good enough.
