After confirmation from weekly idol, BE is about a Chinese character: 悲 (Chinese pronounces it BEI, Korean pronounces it BE, like "be verb" or "be" in "because"). 悲 is sadness. In their dance, they have a six-figure hand gesture, which looks like the upper part of the word: 非. 非 means no or negative. The lower half of the word is 心 which means "heart". So negative + heart = sadness.

The song according to Jiu is about a love that's turned so obsessive that the singer would rather kill their lover to remove any chance of them leaving. There's also a theme of duality, another person inside the singer. If you're familiar with the term Yandere, that's totally the vibes coming from BEcause. I'm loving it because it's a throwback to their earlier work with the horror and creepiness factor but still keeping with their growth over the past four years.

Don't see here anyone mentioning this. So the video is actually inspired by "US". Throughout the video you can see various mirror-reflection scenes. At the very beginning, where Gahyeon tries to choke JiU, the rest of the girls are standing in line. They represent mirror, Gahyeon represents "evil" reflection, that tries to choke real person. Hotel, as I imagine, is the house of reflections, you may notice really doll-like movements of JiU, who actually set up the clocks, presumably the time when real girls are gonna die and will be replaced by their mirror-copies. Throughout the video girls are running from their reflections, and basically everything that is turned upside down symbolises evil reflections. JiU in the mirrored maze, SuA takes apple from the mirror, Handong visibly has been replaced. The rest aren't so clear. Dami appears already dark, surrounded by shadows, probably she was replaced earlier. She also talks with abducted real-Handong in the red room with torn-apart bear. Yoohyeon seems like running away through amusement park, but gets cornered by Dami's shadows, shadows were accompanied by replaced Handong. Siyeon probably was replaced earlier, too, as her real self probably suffers in that underground throne room. Finally, Gahyeon, as the main protagonist, just runs away, trying to escape the park, but as we see in the last scene in the throne room, she was captured as well. Considering all this, the lyrics can be viewed from different angle. "Your face is blue", or "forever mine, even your breath", could be lines sang by those evil reflections.

I haven't actually seen the MCD showcase or Weekly Idol yet, so all I knew of the song when the MV dropped was the teasers. 11:05 Yeah, Siyeon does all the harmony vocals on this song, as she does on a large majority of DC's discography (I think she actually works far harder than a lot of people realise). But Yoohyeon does do that job on two of the songs on the EP, Whistle and Alldaylong. There was actually at least one lyric video available _before_ the MV dropped; I haven't checked it out yet, but I assume it was based on the M Countdown performance they did yesterday...

This song is really interesting to me. Not only because it has a really different sound from their previous title tracks.
