"Imaginary Friend" has a sentimental and mature vibe, quite different from what we expect. The song talks about loneliness and the desire for an imaginary friend, with a soft and melancholic sound that fits perfectly with the lyrics. The MV is beautiful, very well produced, and complements the entire atmosphere. I hope there will be more songs like this, and that the return has been positive. Chaeryeong looks stunning with that blonde hair! "Gold" has a powerful energy and is full of confidence. The rhythm is fast-paced and catchy, with lyrics that make you feel amazing. Meanwhile, "Supernatural" is more mysterious and intense, with an electro atmosphere that envelops you and pulls you into a mystical vibe. Of all the songs, these were the ones that caught my attention the most!

It was Yeji and Ryujin's scene that first reminded me of Wannabe Yeji: The camera angle shots of her standing amidst the crowd Ryujin: the clearest, the mirror Chae: Running away Lia: The table, chairs and chandelier but this time all old and dusty and covered up I'm each, they no longer face it alone. the other members take turns to join them in the scene I just figured out Yuna's. It's an antithesis. Being trapped in a dark room sitting in a tank vs out publicly strutting on a runway This is just my theory but the Yeji, Ryujin and Chae ones are very much clearer Such a masterpiece

they went with double title tracks (GOLD & imaginary friend) this time... and while most people have said that IF should have been the first TT... i don't really agree with it. the girls themselves have said that GOLD was chosen because of the performance aspect of it and i can see how people will trash on them if imaginary friend was the first TT... they will be like 'itzy don't dance anymore' or whatever shyt that they always say. even though the choreo for IF ISN'T SIMPLE either but people seem to think of dancing = breaking it out on the floor lmao. IF is really a good listen and i can't wait to see them perform it live

I think that when the English version of Imaginary Friend was released, Apple Music said that the song was about the parasocial relationship we as fans have with kpop idols. That's why they keep repeating they are our "Imaginary Friends" and they will keep us safe and dreaming but in contrast the song and mv look cold almost sad, having an imagery of the girls running in circles, being hurt and trying to stop the bleeding without succeeding, being scared and harmed by shadows that can't touch them but the itzy girls can feel them, the girls trying to cover lia's eyes at the end, a butterfly pinned to a wall, so beautiful and still so we can see it carefully but so in pain at the same time. Actually Lia herself said that we as fans get to decide if imaginary friend is a good thing or not. Absolutely stunning, not many songs in kpop invite to reflect about how we consume our favorite idols.

What a MASTERPIECE this is!!!! It's unfortunate you didn't understand the meaning behind this MV and song. It probably goes down as my favorite song over their debut and early hits. Seeing ITZY do something like this is a *chefs kiss*. The hard hitting choreography style is overvalued right now by many KPop groups and to see them do something like this, is exceptional at this point in their discography!

I feel like it's not clicking for you because of you perhaps not yet grasping the lyrics. The song is left to interpretation. It possibly is about all 3 of these: Imaginary Friend is actually a Demon Imaginary Friend is an Angel Imaginary Friend is Psychological I think all 3 come into play. Their inner demons, the inner Love for themselves (Imaginary Friend) and perhaps that concept also matches reality (Midzy and ITZY are the real Imaginary Friend fitting the concept). So you have a very deep, meaningful psychological song here. Hence harder to grasp the meaning but if you look at it as in this way it will be easier to understand.
