Of all NCT's songs, I think this one is the only one that can actually be defined as "noise music", but in the absolutely best way possible. I mean, there's even a fart noise in there for Pete's sake! 😄 I really hope you watch the dance practice to this one too... as much as I love the thirst trap of an mv, it doesn't do the choreography justice in any way.

Chain is one of my favorite NCT song’s (and just fave Japanese track) overall. The chaos feels so akin to their style but the build ups and breakdowns are so effective. The rnb sequence elements also sell really well in contrast to the rest of the song

This is one of my most favourite songs by them. It goes neglected at times (because it's not Korean and that happens almost always) but it's such an essentially NCT 127 song. Perfect.

Yes, I think the instrumentals are supposed to resemble tools. I especially like Taeyong's fast rap (and the build up to it) and the bridge part with Taeil. Chain is not one of my favorites, but I do like it. I wasn't sure at first but then it kept getting stuck in my head. lol Could you please react to Taeyong's new collab with Wonstein called "Love Theory"? Thanks!

I feel you. The first time I heard Chain I didn't like it. It's overwhelming. Even now I think it's their most experimental song. I like it but not that much either. Idk it's complexe. Some people be talking shit about Sticker but I don't understand that when Chain exists. Sticker is pretty simple. I don't understand the big deal but it doesn't matter. Music is subjective.

I think because Chain is a Japanese release, it flew under the radar for alot of people. It's definitely one of their most experimental song. Kitchen Beat is another song that has an experimental instrumental

I loved this song on first listen, which is rare for me. I agree it is typical experimental NCT 127, but the melody and incessant background beat as well as the unique instrumentation that sounds like they are drilling and doing other mechanical things, is what I fell for.

you should really check out a background vocal video for this song. haechan's voice plays a REALLY huge part in this song. and on top of that, he actually doubled taeil's high note with an even higher one!

Ngl, chain was definitely overwhelming for a first listen. But, the more you listen, the more you appreciate all the details in the sound. It's become of my fav Japanese release from them.

I would make one correction in the lyric video. Instead of "Make a wish, change the reality" I would translate it more to mean "Make a wish, transform it into reality". In other words, we have the power to do that, not by simply making the wish, but by working together to make change. 🙂 This song is not on my playlist, but I so wish I had seen them perform it live.

//saw this notifications from Aaron //instantly remembered Taeyong’s thunderous rap, Haechan’s center and Yuta’s lack of lines 🫠 Edit: yes, I know Winwin barely got solo lines as well but it’s a norm in SM even in their Korean title track 🥲 in the context of Japanese album, I’d be lying if I didn’t expect more Yuta’s parts but hey, you take what you can get. And the reason why I remembered Haechan’s center very well is because 1. It’s superrr long 2. He wasn’t a main vocalist yet at that time so I didn’t expect much lines to be given to him in 127 song, hence that center position was stuck in my head for awhileee
