This song was about Taeyeon having depression, she went through so much. In 2011 she was almost kidnapped during a Girls Generation performance. In 2014 Taeyeon had a dating scandal with Exo’s Baekhyun which practically almost broke her, she received so much hate in which she felt the need to apologize to everyone. It was the most hate a female idol has ever gotten. She had to apologize for DATING someone. Then a few month later Jessica a member of Girls Generation leaves the group and Taeyeon again is blamed because she is the leader. This song is about her finally letting go of her pain and setting free. Too bad she had to endure more pain after that, two of her best friends eventually passed away from suicide years later Shinee’s Jonghyun (2017) and Ex member of F(x) Sulli (2019) .Taeyeon has been more open about her struggle with depression, we as her fans always worry for her mental health because of all the suffering she has gone through.

In Dear Me (Purpose Album) tell about loving yourself, for me that song also for her own self, and this year she was planning to comeback 'Happy' on her birthday(9th March), sadly her father passed away, so her comeback was delayed to May. I'm glad we still can see her smile and her ahjumma laugh consodering all her struggle and hate she get, she is definitely a strong woman.

This song was released on 2015, this was Taeyeon's basically worst year, poor girl was being hated for breathing because of dumb rumors and also because she was dating one of EXO's most popular members. She talked a lot about dealing with depression during these times, and I was the song that represented the way Taeyeon found herself again and was able to overcome those hardships. I also made the Korean public realize how she was feeling and stop hating on her, since then she's been one of the biggest soloists in Korea and everyone loves her. It's a very inspiring song.

A little information for you: Taeyeon - is a part of the legendary girl group- Girls Generation (SNSD) which is debut from SM at 2007 , her position is Leader and Main vocalist. Her "position" in the whole kpop industry is very high, she praised and admited by a lot of producers, senior singers in the industry, and she is role model and admired by almost all of the junior idols I can say, just so so much, there are at least one admired her in every single groups if that make sense. She born at 1989 March 9. She is actually funny and savage. I feel like Taeyeon's best vocal-based songs are hidden in the albums. One thing I absolutely love about this music video is how Taeyeon's eye color changes throughout the video. At the beginning, the "free" Taeyeon has grey(ish) eyes and the waitress Taeyeon has brown eyes. The moment the waitress Taeyeon goes outside and sees the butterfly, which inspires her, her eyes begin to subtly change its color. When she walks out on the sidewalk and frees her hair, her eye color is already visibly lighter than before. When both Taeyeons meet at the beach, the camera even zooms in on their eyes, they changed completely: now the ex-waitress has grey eyes and the "free" Taeyeon has the brown eyes. The "I"s that appear on screen are also kinda grey and brown and they mold into one. It's a really fine imagery to how Taeyeon seems to "find" herself and managed to bring her two sides into a more fulfilled and complete one. =)
