Why? Nerf call them clips, so that's officially the correct name for them. We put darts in them, not rounds (or 'bullets') and we fit them into blasters, not guns. On a real gun the correct term for the item in question would, indeed, be 'magazine'. But these are toys for children, not firearms. Hasboro can call them whatever they like, and have deliberately avoided any references to real guns. Drac is correct to call them clips. That said, it annoys me too!

I prefer 'magazine', but NERF's term for their plastic magazines for NERF foam darts is 'clip', and that's okay as well. After all; bullets existed before darts, and so did other things called 'darts', but NERF darts are... well, 'darts', not bullets or some new name. Like your so-called 'taco', it resembles a bullet (pizza), but is made of entirely different materials with a similar function. Even though it's different from a pointed throwing dart (normal taco), it's called a dart (you can call it a taco).

I have a stryfe and rapidstrike I still prefer the rampage/sentinel as a primary :-p fylwheels are great for close quarters but you can't hit the broad side of a barn with them beyond 30 feet unless you mod the crap out of them, which requires you either to have electrical knowledge or pay someone a crap ton of money to do it for you. all it takes to mod a springer is just a new spring sometimes...

***** really all you need to make a Stryfe good is take out the locks and the thermistor which just requires some pliers and electrical tape. I like modding them over say, a Retaliator because the system isn't under tension; for instance in a Retaliator the spring is always compressed, and pieces fly out.

I think that the Doomlands blasters don't have front-barrel attachment points just because they want to keep the sci-fy look. It would look ridiculous with pretty much any front-barrel attachments (unless you painted them, but Hasbro doesn't like modifications, so they wouldn't have it intended for attachments with paint-jobs).

The stryfe will still be used for size , but these newer flywheel blasters are doing very well. I also think that stryfes will stay on shelves as long as the elite performance stays the same.

Can't be a replacement for the Stryfe if it's part of the Doomlands line; a Target exclusive can't replace a model available to all retailers. Plus Nerf probably likes the Stryfe as it is a stripped down package that can accept a catalog full of of their clip on parts. Consumers like it because at $20, it's the best bang for buck flywheel toy. Nerf should just redesign the shell of the Stryfe and sell it as an all new package if they want to bump sales. Only requirements would be 4xAA powered 5v motor driven mechanism in a compact shell that accepts barrel, stock and rail attachments. Keep the same $20 MSRP and it'll move. Foregrip on the Desolator is better than the Stryfe, but everything on the Stryfe was built around adding parts. Desolator looks like a winner even if it's limited to one retail outlet.

I got one of those First Order blasters, I don't know if it's just mine but even though it says "12" darts on it I've been able to perfectly fit 14 in it even though it's stock. I ain't complaining though, I got 2 extra darts in the thing without modding it so that's good in my book.

Honestly my theory on how they are dealing with the Stryfe, and this, is that they are dividing the Stryfe up. If you just want the performance of the Stryfe get the Desolator, if you want the full customization of the original, Get a Modulus. and they are pricing them differently and the modification ability will justify the cost of the modulus.
