That hobby being hobby board gaming. And yet, they treat hobby board gaming like the MEGA line where they only release 1 or 2 new hobby board games per year, even though hobby board games (At least entry level ones) are becoming more popular and are eating into the market where Hasbro 'had dominance' over (Target and Walmart in the States). Frankly even if Nerf comes out with a model intended to correct their mistake of retiring the Stryfe in favor of this disaster case, the Spectrum landing means that people are going to probably be building aftermarket parts around the Spectrum rather than whatever that possible future model might be, putting Hasbro at an overall disadvantage of reclaiming a spot as a staple blaster for hobbyists. Another consecutive fumble from the mother ship.
@darklordofsword4 жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure. The spectrum has some inherent limitations that the Stryfe does not, since it only has one attachment point, and the overall shape will be a pain to design STLs around. I'm not saying it wouldn't happen, but I don't think it lends itself as well to body mods the way the Stryfe did.

@@Slender_Man_186 That or clipped shut. They are getting so anti consumer they are starting to break right to repair laws. And thats on top of the 2.0 line being their most flimsy and breakable line yet
@FortyTwoBlades4 жыл бұрын
@@darklordofsword I will honestly be surprised if we don't get a full-blown Pro-series flywheeler that uses the Spectrum as a test case for informing improvements. At the end of the day, the supply of the Stryfes is only going to get smaller at this point, which means that you're basically gonna' have people continuing to mod Stryfes until they're no longer economically a good value, at which point a current-production model will have to become the new standard whether it's a step up OR down compared to the original. And the critical thing here is the timing. We're already seeing a bevy of parts being made for the Spectrum and it only just came out. It'll take time for it to build up a library of accessories, but in any case the fact that the Spectrum is a better Stryfe replacement than the Phoenix is what puts Hasbro in an awkward position of either having to play catch-up or else not have a product available for sale that has an equally active role in the hobby space. And while one can argue that the hobbyist market is small in number, a general rule of thumb in business is that 20% of the user base buys 80% of the product. Combine that with the fact that it's hobbyists who put out review videos, and those videos then inform parents looking into buying good blasters for their kids, reviews of stock performance blasters that are staples in the hobby space means that you do get a tangible impact on sales of certain models as a result of the sheer number of Google hits certain models get vs. others. The whole situation with Prime Time vs. Hasbro has honestly been so interesting from a business strategy and marketing perspective that I was prompted to look up my old college marketing professor because I thought it has all the makings of a great case study and figured he'd find it interesting.

The fact that they are only available in one color is a smart marketing move on there part because Rival is team red vs team blue. So that means that the nerf wars would be more interesting because red team has a revolver that shoots 15 rounds, while the blue team has a eight shot p90 that runs on batteries. The batteries in the front makes it front heavy And the returded mag release placement Wtf but I like it's actually being symmetrical like same look on both sides not FLAT like the stryfe But it's just awful Only good thing about it is the trigger pull feels nice

you can make it an after burner as the fw cage and baterry tray are a solid piece

My Stryfe never had a good magwell until I opened it up and the plastic got a little loose. That’s my Battlecamo, my OJ which I never opened has a very crappy magwell I need to open it up.

It looks like nerf is listening to a lot of these reviews. Especially with the Phoenix. But it seems like what they've decided to do is they're going to no longer release the Phoenix in its chopped down version. What they've done in the meantime, is They are now re releasing the Phoenix with with the stock and barrel from the echo.

The fact that a worst blaster costs more than a better blaster (ie spectrum) just amazes me if you showed me how much Hasbro paid to make each blaster but not the blaster I would assume this blaster was apart of the alpha strike line
