There is a later arc called the Warped Gaeabrande arc, where Seiya and Ristarte never appeared, Ilulu was sacrificed, and Mash became the Hero who killed the demon lord. Unfortunately Mash has gone crazy from the trauma of Elulu dying and being gaslight by her ghost that a genocidal war against all non-Dragonewts is what she wants, and the resident dragon lady who had her sacrificed didn’t take much to be all gung ho about exterminating all non-Dragonewts either.

The later arcs are Warped versions of arcs from previous stories, due to some big shit that happens that means that to fix things to how they originally ended Seiya and Ristarte have to go in and repair what’s been broken. There’s a lot more but my explanation was just to explain why being baggage carriers was much better for the kids, cause now Mash will have nightmares of what happened for the rest of his life since the timeline may be fixed, his soul remembers the TRAUMA~.

And to think this is an only prologue to the real story lol Mad respects to having only single Konosuba refrence and no Ristarte dissing, good taste with treating her as the best girl I love this series, there is no reason to complain about the final villain as his is only litterly just the beginning of the story. You can only imagine how a world completely taken over by a demon king would look like with the demon king expecting heroes to appear, they will have to scrape by just to survive. I know this serves as an ad for the light novel but i hope we get a season 2 tho i doubt it.

@Kenneth Mana As we know in Season 1's last Episode Seiya was summoned again but this time his memory was intact and his stats were reseted..He Remeber his past relation with Rista and this time instead of cautios he was his old gentleman self where he treats Rista with love and care... Their mission was to kill the demon king of Xphoria the world where last time they died and after Hero's failure the world had become SS rank.... Seiya and Rista go to that world without any training as SS rank world the enemies were too powerful and they barely survive... after returning to the God world and almost losing Rista from soul destroying weapon he became his cautious self and started treating Rista like shit again..😅 He started training maxed out his level(99) obtain all old abilities except flight..and they go back to that world...The interaction b/w Seiya the failed hero and the people of that world was very funny ..Everyone was blaming Seiya tha he failed to kill demon king and died that's why they were living shittier life...He beat everyone no exception child,old woman..😂 In their Journey they also meet their unborn baby and travelled with her..that was so emotional..🥺 He also learn Berserk that was very powerful skill like super saiyan..he can raise his stats like 2-3 fold temporary..as his maxed out stat is not able to match the enemies.... After defeating the Demon king it was revealed that some Dark God and old Generation Heroes are behind all the increase strength of demon king...which is Revealed in new arc after this arc.. 😗😗😗😗

I binge-watched the hell out of this isekai on my Funimation three whole times,two years ago (in 2022),in 2023 I bought the blu-ray and listened to that kick-ass opening song numerous times. Hopefully,White Fox will come to their senses and make two more whole seasons of this lesser-known isekai. Seiya Ryuuguin is relatable,he truly is an inspiring icon. He is like Kirito but muscular,he is like Kazuma but smarter,both Seiya and Kazuma call their goddesses "useless" as part of the comedy which works. 💯

Credit where it's due, it actually is pretty original and reasonable that one of the big bad bosses shows up immediately to try to kill them instead of playing the waiting and moustache-twirling game. One of the best things about this manga/anime (light novel?) is that both sides act like they are genuinely trying to win and are not here for our entertainment. If anything, the main character and the demons are all realists trying to seize victory at any cost and are surrounded by normal isekai NPCs and characters who don't seem to understand that this is serious business. Resulting in us cheering on the hero, appreciating the actual effort of the demons not playing around and stepping up personally, and the entertainment comes from the clash between the rock hard Chads fighting a war against each other and everyone else being completely out of their depth. It's like a group of dudes trying to kill each other while a bunch of kids watch and smile as if seeing a game until someone dies and then start to be affected as they are faced with reality.

The kids are good characters BECAUSE they don't do anything. Children shouldn't be responsible for saving the world, and this anime explicitly fights back against other stories normalizing this. Seiya seems at first like a heartless bastard who will do anything in order to win, but even he isn't down with child sacrifice or endangerment. He's basically an anti-Dumbledore. Seiya guides the kids to become stronger for their own well-being, and he chooses to face the only serious danger in their world completely alone.
