when this piano was released as a library years ago before originals series it was used in the video game Celeste if you wanna hear it in context. listen to the ending credits theme called Exhale. This piano, Piano in Blue and the Grandeur are my favorite software piano libraries. I like the sound of the Giant piano too. the new Heavyocity one sounds real nice too for something really far out. i might have to get it.

hi, thanks for the video. Labs piano has the velocity think. it's the second slider. you have to lower it down, that's when you get the velocity thing. Hope it helps, and maybe you have known by now. Happy new year!

Nice review. I think the dynamics slider is just reducing the dynamic range, but as far as I know it should be absolutely possible to play the piano without touching the dynamics slider. If you hit the keys pretty hard and reach 127 velocity you should get the same sound as with the dynamics slider all the way up. I don't have the Originals Felt yet, but with the Intimate Grand and Cinematic Soft Piano it works like that for me. I mostly put the dynamics slider at around 20 to make it a bit easier to hit the upper velocities. I'm still thinking if I should also get the Originals Felt as it has a very lovely tone. I love the Labs Soft Piano, but something about the timing of the upper octaves seems off. Some notes have a big delay which makes it sound a bit strange sometimes when playing arpeggios or faster melodies. Did you notice any issue like that with the Originals Felt?

Thank you for your comment, their never as sensitive velocity wise as I would like, but thank you for your advise that actually really helps! I get what you mean with the labs soft piano, it’s seems they started from the ground of with the original felt and I don’t notice any issue with the upper octaves.

@@Joe-blogcomposer Thank you for your reply. Yeah, I know what you mean. These kind of felt pianos mostly don't have a lot of dynamic range. My favorite piano so far is the Originals Intimate Grand which can be played a bit more expressively, even though it's also just 3 dynamic layers and doesn't get very loud, it works really well for the softer kind of music I like to write. That's good to hear that there are no timing issues with the Originals Felt. Then it might be worth it for me. I would like to have a piano with the tone of Labs Soft Piano with a bit more dynamic layers but without the timing issues and more microphone options and hammer noises.

got this with the student sale you mentioned maybe two or so years ago. it’s a nice plug-in to play around with, but the lack of velocity and dynamics to the sampling has made this plug-in pretty much useless to me in terms of using it for anything serious
