@@flightlesschicken7769 agree, it seems like they don't. However almost all the of the influencers in the community are enthusiasts, therefore all of the content is driven by enthusiasts. Their target market is most likely watching a lot of that content. So if all the enthusiasts are pushing people away from Nerf and towards other brands that offer better value - it's going to make an impact over time. They are missing the mark IMO.

The Ultra line was meant to be used only with Ultra darts, problem being the blasters under perform so badly and the darts are so expensive that hobbyists are turning their backs on the line. Unfortunately hobbyists and modders are a very small segment of the market that buys blasters, so Hasbro will continue this proprietary type strategy if it brings in bigger profits this year.

Drac quick question: Does the goldish plastic have swirls in it? If so BE SUPER CAREFUL WITH THAT. We in the transformers community have this term called gold plastic syndrome. Hasbro used to use this pretty gold plastic with metallic swirls in it, but because of how it was made it became super brittle and shattered if you looked at it wrong. If it has the swirls HANDLE WITH CARE OR IT WILL COLLAPSE INTO DUST. On the other hand if you actually wanted to destroy this hunk of useless plastic, please handle it like a crazed animal.

Wait, is there extra magazine storage in that hole under the stock? This really reminds me, in terms of how the barrel looks, of a .50cal sniper rifle with the barrel recoiled all the way back. Hasbro has done proportional barrels before, so why can't they do it with this? Also, there are so many major bummers for such an expensive blaster. The prime being so obnoxiously long, and only on one side, the scope being a permanent fixture, no bipod, and the complete lack of deco on one side are absurd. For this money, you could get a Nexus Pro, an actually good blaster, that gets high performance, and can actually hit things.

I wonder why they went with an external mag for this thing, I’m surprised they use an internal mag since kids who are the target audience for this usually have an easier time with internal mags rather than external box mags

It might be cheaper in the long run to ship the blaster in parts by having the magazine for large blasters. It could also be easier in some cases to design the blaster with a detachable magazine, given that an internal magazine might require special geometry to work with a particular blaster design, or might just be hard/expensive to produce the specific parts necessary in quantity. I'd also assume from a designer's point of view the internal magazine design on a heavier/longer blaster is undesirable, because a child could more easily find themselves in a position to close the bolt on their fingers. Having the mag encourages the child to hold the blaster more steadily or to place it on the ground to better access the magazine.

I can honestly say I wouldn’t even pick up an ultra blaster from the goodwill... we went from rapidstrikes, stryfes, and retaliators. To numbers.... that use styrofoam darts...Only dart zone will be getting my money for the next few months. Hopefully the GL and the mega-stryfe are as good as I hope they will be. The Barrett holds 10 rounds. In fact the whole concept of a “sniper rifle” doesn’t actually exist. There are rifles used by marksmen and it’s not uncommon for them to hold around 10 rounds.

He's just saying in terms of nerf. Historically, all of nerf's pseudo snipers have come with 6 round mags. The Longstrike, Longshot, and Centurion, just to name a few.

This is a great blaster it gives you a good feel. I definitely love how big it is. And the scope does help with aim it's definitely for more long range and I love this Nerf gun I got it as a Christmas gift it is perfect in every way. And when I take it to friends they love to play with it too. Overall the other Nerf guns are really too small there are two that I have my eye on I on right now. But this is a great Nerf gun. 5 stars would recommend!

the ultra line can be saved. we need some accustrike darts for it all and that would fix the issues with the ammo, and so these guns are already just so powerful but the ammo sucks rn but accustrike could fix that by twisting the fins on the end to make it so that the dart has spin to it, and the tips of the darts could be switched to accustrike style tips.
