I got a longshot at a yard sale for 4 dollars, after a few shots, I realized it was heavily modded and shot at least 80 ft. It was old and beat up though so I had to refurbish it, but still an amazing deal :)

Im glad to see this thing return. i still have mine and my little brother's blue ones from when we could barely cary them. Watching Drac work on these and seeing what other modders have done is really inspiring, so maybe ill take my two busted ass long shots and make them cool again so my nephew can use them for ten more years. any suggestions on durability upgrades would be welcome.

Happy to see this available once again, but also disappointed in the fact that no new changes were made to the blaster. Granted, the same mods I was able to perform before on my old Longshot will still work, so all in all, I'm excited to pick up another one of these again.

I was so excited when I heard these were back just because of how much fun you can have modding one. I made a Spartanshot out of my original Longshot and i plan on picking up one of these to make it pump action.

I think the repaint is awesome, but the lack of elite performance is a little dissapointing. They could have filled in the holes where the bipod was too. I finished my first longshot mod yesterday (plus.google.com/photos?pid=6046138626443347202&oid=106709660734629043859), and they really are awesome modding blasters. But less informed nerfers will buy this thinking it gets 75 feet and be slightly or very disappointed.

this makes me happy that this is back on the market and you no longer have to pay up the ass for a new longshot. however i am upset that they did not include the front attachment or at least a repainted barrel extension nor did they improve its internals. just a idea drac but maybe you can get ahold of hasbro and suggest to them to add a separate buyable front attachment for this sucker.

Great and unbiased review . Drac have you thought if singling a splitfire like how did a double barrelled pistol splat but turned around? I'm guessing the power of two tanks considering one barrel can reach eighty feet. It might get crazy ranges

I'm absolutely biased, but I believe the Longshot is the best blaster Nerf has ever made. I remember getting the original back in 2006, and it totally changed the game. While the old yellow clips were a bit awkward (the top of the magazine was a bit wider, so darts popped out of the top), the clip system introduced with the Longshot is now one of the most ubiquitous components of modern Nerf guns. Not to mention it is one of the most solid Nerf guns ever built and it still has one of the most satisfactory firing thuds of any Nerf gun.

I think the ZombieStrike Series was supposed to be for modding because they don't put the ranges on the box (thats why some of the guns have sucky range) and some of the guns are just repainted elite blasters. (My opinion)

I am happy to this back on the shelf. I use the Longshot for HvZ and I have always loved the design and feel of the blaster. My blue and yellow ones are nice but they are sadly out of date and really damaged. It will be nice to have a new one to mod and make my own.

Hey Drac, I've been following you for a couple of weeks now checking out all your mods and reviews. I must say you have gained a subscriber. My wife is supportive of my hobby. It's hard to find a girl that will let you play with toys. I love that we have that in common. I first started watching you when you did a loadout at a HvZ game and showed us all of your stuff in your Juke. I bought my wife a burgundy Juke a few months ago with the subs and navigation system and two toned seats. It would look awesome decked out with Nerf gear! Anyway, love the review on your Thunderbow and this one. I think Hasbro wanted to keep this one as it was simply because of the appeal of this blaster for modders. I still have my original 2006 version unmodded. I'm thinking about getting this one so that I can mod one and not mess up the value. Anyway, I will definitely be back! Keep it up!

What you think about adding a longer barrel that is thicker thus allowing less air to escape around the dart as it fires. After take a part a few blaster i'm convinced that the barrels are just to thin. I guess this to allow any kind of dart to be used. But If your only planning on using a elites this might help. Thoughts and feedback?

I picked one of these up and I ended up needing to leave the primed bolt lock in place because the tolerances are so much more loose than the original one.

I really want one of these because I never had the original but this one looks badass. I like the fact that they made it have no barrel extension and no bipod and also that the scope is completely orange it will look cool on other boasters like the hammershot or the orange rough cut because scopes make no sense on those boasters

I'm not upset at all about the lack of upgrades. The dart tooth upgrade would have been beneficial, and if there were any other compatibility issues with the longshot and elite darts, Nerf should have probably made those upgrades. Because of the longshot's place in my heart, however, I'm more than happy to look past these very minor "mistakes", if you will. What I'd really like to see is Nerf give the longshot and elite overhaul, updating internals and maybe (if it's not sacrilege) consider making a new shell that's sleek but not too far from what the original longshot was.

I dunno if it's a thing with the old longshots, but when I press the clip release, the clip gravity drops out of the magwell instead of having to grab the clip to remove it. Not only it does it with the elite style clips, it also does it with the classic N-strike clips too, including the six rounders. Does this happen to anyone else, with the Blue, Yellow, Crimson, and Turquoise ones?

That was one of the two nerf guns i wanted, that i could never find. The other was the longstrike, which i'd rather have. it sucks that they didnt upgrade the internals (at least they should have dealt with the ammo issue) but i'll still probably get one for nostalgia sake.

This thing is just terrible. It has possibly one of the worst paint jobs I've ever seen on a Nerf gun, Nerf left out all of the accessories except for the basically useless scope, and the worst thing of all is that they could've just as easily put in a much better spring and upgraded the dart tooth, but no, Nerf just had to leave it exactly how it was 8 years ago.

Snoop Doggy Doge the blaster in itself if just plain lazy. I hate to burst dracs bubble, but there are many other blasters that should've been put in the zombie strike line instead of this pile, not that I don't like the original longstrike, but this thing just disgraced it. But knowing the general intelligence of a large potion of people that buy this, they're going to think it's an upgraded longshot, when it certainly isn't.

They had to change something with the dart tooth because none of my longshots will chamber even one elite dart the dart tooth actually pulls the head of the elite dart down into the dart tooth assembly and it does it about 100% of the time

I still have my old blue Longshot. Seeing this enraged me because it's not just a repaint but it performs worse than it did 8 years ago. I've gotten at least 25 feet flat out of my Longshot flat with elites and up to 55 angled. Makes me just want to give my old blue one a spit polish and a brass breach. If only I could mod...

Drac, i do not know what or why you have a problem with your longshot, but i have gotten mine and my ranges are N strike ranges flat (thats still bad) i wish they gave the bipod i like the priming on it stock, and i wish there we some changes, my dart tooth also was changed, and honestly i think it was a bit lazy that they didnt really change anything besides the color, bipod removal and removal of the front blaster, i liked the grip on the bipod, I'm not into shotgun priming as much, and 35$ is a lot considering you can get it for less for the entire original blaster. the shell they could've changed the muzzle, it looks like it needs a barrel on, and holding the blaster where the bipod used to be is annoying in my opinion.

Captain Tsambikos The old Streamlines have a longer dart head post thing, that doesn't allow it to fit into many blasters, but Elites have one that can go into any blaster
