Murree, Pakistan ➖ After checking in to my new hotel in the lower part of Murree, I decided to go for a stroll into the main part of town. It was a beautiful walk through the nature-filled streets, with kids playing outside and enjoying life. I made it downtown where I found a local shoe cleaner to repair my bag that was broken. He was a kind and honest guy so I gave him a tip at the end, then was invited to a shop for some chai & coffee.

@@aynawi i did had a first hand experience with that, when i had to stay overtime for work like 3:00 AM in the morning. One of my colleague invited me as the other colleague was out for the job and there he had his empty bed. I testify that i have never slept on a thing like that before. I couldn't sleep with that excruciating pain in my back, i left my friends hostel at 5:30 AM in the morning as the sun rose. The very next day i asked my other colleague who was out for work all night that how could you sleep on that thing? He replied with the smile that i can't sleep on soft mattresses.

Pakistan is mind blowing. With 5 of the 14 peaks over 8,000 meters and 108 peals over 5,000 meters - by comparison, Switzerland has 2. Pakistan has over 3,000 glaciers. But despite its beauty, nothing matches the kindness and hospitality of its people....regardless of the western media narrative. A must visit country....

@@kaka3661able Been to both....Switzerland has its amazing places but it is a fraction of Pakistan. Pakistan infrastructure is coming along given its three main mountain ranges, Himalayas, Karakoram and Hindu Kush with hundreds of peaks over 5,000 meters. But what really sets Pakistan apart are the people and their hospitality. No random person ever bought me a cup of tea or coffee in Switzerland.....in Pakistan it is a daily occurrence. At the end of the day the beauty and the people of Pakistan make it stand alone.

I always get confused with mamu and chachu. There was a kid who I used to tutor at my house and she was Pakistani , so she used to tell me some days " aaj mamu aye the ghar pe " Another day " aaj chachu aye the ghar pe" So chachu is father's brother? With basic Urdu/Hindi knowledge I used to struggle here there talking to the child.
