Honest Sling Bag Showdown: Tomtoc T33, Bellroy Venture 6L, Ulanzi Camera, Tomtoc T21 explorer!

Dude, you’re the only guy I’ve seen on KZbin to talk about both the Explorer 4L and the Aviator 3.5L. I appreciate it man, seriously. I currently have the 4L and am really debating if I should get the Aviator 3.5 or CAS2 (from evergoods). I used to want the Venture sling 6L but the lack of back zippered pocket and the placement of the pen slot (only tiny ones fit) really put me off, as I’ve seen many videos on it. The only reason I wanted it is so that I could eventually put an iPad Air 11” in it (I think it fits?). But maybe I just won’t get an iPad. Anyways, what’re your thoughts on Aviator 3.5 vs CAS2 for edc?

Heyo, thanks for checking out my video. I never owned the CAS2 from evergoods and it doesn't really appeal to me based on the stuff I normally carry day to day. I've been EDCing the Aviator 3.5 for the past 3 weeks and I have to admit, it continues to impress me. The only thing I see going for the CAS2 over the Aviator is the ability to wear it as a fanny pack but I think that's a trade-off. Something that is both a crossbody and fanny pack excels at neither. The aviator is cross-body only and it wears comfortably. I don't normally wear fanny packs. For the aviator, I bought 2 Nite-izes to hook on the straps to the side to allow carrying grocery bags and it has come in handy many times during my EDC day-to-day. I don't see the ability to hook on Nite-izes to the CAS2. For those reasons, I'd recommend the aviator. It also doesn't hurt that the aviator is always available and is half the price of the CAS2.

@@alvinreviewsthings8793 those are some good points. If I got the CAS2, I’d definitely only wear it in fanny pack mode as sling mode seems like an afterthought. But i do like the way the CAS2 is easily accessible while looking down at it in fanny pack mode. The pockets make a lot of sense (from the vids I’ve seen). The thing about the Aviator that I wish they would change is the interior zippered pocket. While I love that they included it, I wish it was a shelved pocket so that if I put sunglasses inside, it doesn’t drop to the bottom and eat up space from the front quick access pocket. That’s really the only downside I see. Speaking of the front quick access pocket, does it really have more space than the original 4L version. I hope so. Getting my wallet from there is a pain sometimes, as well as my keys as I have packet the bag out pretty big certain days. Lastly, do you prefer it in black or would you get another color at some point? I’m liking the grey but not too sure. Looks are subjective of course.

@@mr_red13 I always prefer black. Xpac if they have it. You're right though, looks are subjective. For the aviator, the interior zipped pocket is where I put camera filters. Personally, I would never put sunglasses in these sling bags, especially expensive ones, that's just a disaster waiting to happen. Even bags like the Bellroy Venture 6 Sling with the dedicated slot, I wouldn't trust it. For the quick access pocket on the aviator, yes, it has much more space. I can fit a passport size wallet in the front compartment. Which do you prefer...Now I already have T21 the old version not XPAC Version about 2 years and looking for a new edc bag...Do you recommend to brought The Aviator-T33 or upgrade my new edc bag to T21 XPAC Version.

@@a.an.and.v I recommend the aviator. The xpac T21 is great but has less usable space than the aviator. Tomtoc will probably release an xpac version of the aviator, seeing as how popular the aviator is

I just bought the Alpaka Vertex Pouch waiting for it to arrive but I hope it will be a good combo for my Fujifilm X-T3 with lens and an additional lens. Maybe worth checking out if your looking for a replacement to fit a mirrorless.
