Pitch Meeting on this one. That was a really solid Honest Trailer, but i just love how the Pitch Meeting guy becomes more and more depressed as the movie goes on and pretty much everytime he gets excited about anything the other guy turns him down again. Because i feel that's exactly how people felt when watching this movie. "Oh boy the Hu-.... they're just talking? Oh boy here he comes! Aaaaand he went to sleep. Upon opening, Hulk received mixed reviews from critics.[88] On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Hulk holds a 63% approval rating based on 239 reviews and an average rating of 6.2/10. The website's critics' consensus reads, "While Ang Lee's ambitious film earns marks for style and an attempt at dramatic depth, there's ultimately too much talking and not enough smashing."
@aevalk83693 жыл бұрын
In 2003 there were still other movie genres considered for big screen money, most movies weren't built entirely around CGI and they were not as confident about "comic" book movies becoming the be all end all of film making. The Hulk is an odd character. His big deal is to smash things but the man's personal story is full of pathos. He has to live like a robot or risk losing control, he cares and realizes what can happen to innocent people if he does. They had to write him that way originally to balance out the fact they created a character whose only purpose is to smash things and still be the good guy. Creating fresh fodder characters for comics can't be easy. It's hard not to make the stories be nothing but one long soap opera with extreme action. Like the WWE without being confined to wrestling and human frailty limits. Bringing him to life and making it interesting on screen should have been easier but CGI was expensive and once again most of the thought went into displaying his super power.The budget would naturally limit the raging Hulk's on screen time. They're still limiting action time and making scenes too dark to save money. Hey you ...Godzilla. You're the poster child for that problem. It'd be nice if you show up more often your own movie before the audience falls asleep or wanders away. Have you turned into a vampire and can't fight in sunlight? Just tell us, people like vampires now. They sat through some of the most boring vampires ever created, some may have permanently damaged their brains but still they kept going back. The drama end of the script was doomed with Twilight level flat emotions and dragging dialogue. It's always uncertain what a director wants from an actor but if everyone in the cast has the same flat style it likely not their fault. The pieces are all there for a good movie, but it was mishandled in every area. It seems like this one was aimed for children... and then no ..maybe pull in adults.... but no ...they don't want to ruin the future Super Hero movie takeover ....but all demographics would want some mayhem from the hulk but.... okay.. okay we'll settle for making it as close to being literal living comic as possible, pad the time with trying to build sympathy, have huge fights without hurting the other good guys and hope the doggo lovers won't be too vocal. Throwing a tank full of people, crashing helicopters and no one got hurt sums up the problem with trying to straddle the line between playing to very young children and playing to teens/adults. Pitch Meeting wins this one for me, Producer Guys reactions were more interesting than the entire movie. The description of the climax was my favorite part of Honest trailers.
@OnMyMindEntertainment3 жыл бұрын
Oh my God!!! I felt the same way about Godzilla!! He's barely in it and when he does show up, you can still barely see him, LOL!!! Overall you're right, there was a line, actually too many lines trying to be straddled, LOL!

I just realized that I can finally use something somewhat cool to indicate my advancing age. I'm so old that I saw Star Wars for the first time (during its first run) in a theater. In fact, my mom took my sister and I to see it about 50 times. P.S. Due to my annoying child, I stumbled across a pretty decent cookie mod. I crush up peanut butter M&Ms and put them on chocolate chip cookies and then pop them into a toaster oven for about 4-5 minutes. They're actually really good. I was surprised.

@@OnMyMindEntertainment Special effects weren't that good at the time so Star Wars set the bar for special effects from that point on. Fun fact (at least for me): George Lucas and I have the same birthday.

Tbf, this is still the one that got the backstory right. TIH got the actual psychology right. And Ruffalo's ones get the action right. Someone needs to put the pieces together. Use the backstory elements of this film, get Ed Norton to write the script like he did with TIH, and have Ruffalo play him in a big solo Hulk project (Make it a show to get around Universal's rights).

its hilarious to see people talking bad about the hulk CGI IN 2003 like if they have done any better in the new hulk CGI .. he still looks fake as hell ..they didnt change any thing other than adding some freckles to his skin ( from looking like rubber to look like statue ) & that's not gonna make him look real .. few years more from now if they add some wrinkles or any thing to the future hulk 2027 they will be mocking this 2022 one .. i don't know why people really pretend like the CGI is changing .. u cannot improve something already been improved ultimately since 30 years ago .. its only depend in how much budget & how talented the graphic designer .. JP3 & terminator 3 was 2001 & they has more better realistic CGI than the new hulk movie ( that looks like ps4 video game graphic ) its not really about the year

Ok, full disclosure; when I was a little kid I was obsessed with The Incredible Hulk. I used to watch the tv show with Lou Ferigno which came on right before Wonder Woman. I was so obsessed that I actually prayed to God for an overdose of gamma radiation. I might be one of the few that loved this movie. In retrospect I was probably blind when it came to all things Hulk. Even the poodles which I really wish wasn’t so darkly lit. You laughed way louder for Pitch Meeting so it’s an easy call. Now if only we could get the Hulk to somehow beat up Mark Ruffalo...
