I would say we have already seen a cinematic universe end; the Fox X-Men universe. And it ended with hardly anyone going to see the last instalment, Dark Phoenix. And I think it's strange the DCEU were so keen to announce their end, before SEVERAL movies have been released. I think we all know this high profile reboot plan will negatively affect their box office. - All things considered, I'm in complete support of James Gunn making unpopular decisions in service of a bigger picture. Now we wait.

It's going to be to little to late. Even the MCU is failing now, and people are getting fed up with the super hero format. Even long time fans are skipping movies and shows now, and most of the characters have been replaced by more obscure comic book characters that the average person have no connection to. During phase one even non comic book people had some vague idea of who Ironman and Captain America and the Hulk and so on are, and they were backed by big stars that most people know who are. But now they're all dead or something, and the new characters and actors are not as well known. Like Moon Knight was a pretty cool characters, great costume, but I have no idea who he is so it kinda didn't feel like part of the MCU at all. She Hulk was terrible. Miss Marvel was just meh. The Loki show was okay but also seemed like they were replacing Loki, or at least considering it. All the new people in suits at the end of Black Panther 2, no idea who any of those are, and I don't really care either. I guess they could try to salvage it by bringing in the X-Men because I know a bunch of characters from that, and the Fantastic 4 and Blade. But if they're just going to go with this whole line up of characters that are only known to comic book fans then the wider appeal will be gone and people are going to start dropping off. Which means they'll make less money, which means new movies will have a lower budget and therefore get worse and worse until the whole thing just dies, probably with even the most hardcore fans hating it by the end. And for DC to try to start a new universe, again, in the midst of that, with everyone already fed up with super hero stuff, it's just not going to go well. Also, nobody wants to see the origin story of Superman and Wonder Woman and Batman again, so what are they going to do? Just start in the middle? Do a montage? I just feel like at this point there is nothing they can do that's not going to suck.

My concern is what Jeremy from the quartering said which is that there's not really any major actors currently aside from him who really match superman so it seems like they want to go with some new up and coming talent. Which means its going to be a reset to the origin story with someone who has no track record. They might be good or bad but it seems like a bad choice when they're trying to recover money and ground given Cavil would draw viewers in. Of course the way the studio handled it having him announce his return then a few months later tossing him aside doesn't help.

I'm pretty excited for the reboot of the DC Universe. Granted, I think the DCEU will still live on for a little while, or at least the Peacemaker and Suicide Squad sides of it since James Gunn makes those, but I do think DC needs a fresh start, and this is a good first step to take. Also, How It Should Have Ended made a video on Black Adam, and it was really funny too, so I recommend watching that.

I totally agree that the DCEU does need a rework, as some of their movies in the cinematic universe itself were not as good as they could have been (which can be said for many a movie, I am aware). To say it's never been done before though? I mean rebooting and retconning is kind of what they have done to every single series they start. So them doing the same to their universe overall, isn't all that surprising. Like it's been their go to answer lol. So yes I agree that it needs to be done (again), but it is by far not a new thing with them at all. To add on to this, it's also not new in the sense of it being done to an entire cinematic universe as it was also done with the X-men cinematic one before. As well as the MonsterVerse too.

I don’t think it’s necessary, and I feel like they’re just screwing over their actors and the fans, especially those really happy Henry Cavil was coming back. I’m also very interested to see if and how they do Lobo, considering the kind of character he is

I liked the movie thou it felt weird they basically made a villain a hero. Least from knowledge. I also got trick in far from home with Mysterio. I knew he was a villain but after watching captain marvel and skrulls being the good guys threw me off. I only knew about them cuz super skrull being fantastic 4 villain so that threw me all off. So maybe idk what I’m talking about though I always remember black Adam’s line in one movie where he says “ we have the power of gods , shouldn’t we not be worshipped as such? If you step on an ant do you feel bad? “ that has always stuck with me and I love villain with great thought. Just like thanos in infinity war.

As far as the DC Movies go, not counting Joker or The Batman since they aren't really part of the same universe. 1. Wonder Woman, 2. Aquaman, 3.Black Adam, 4.Man Of Steel, 5.The Suicide Squad, 6.Batman v Superman-Either Cut (both versions are equally bad but better than what comes after), 7. Justice League Snyder Cut (way too long ) and the Regular cut (just not very good), 8. Wonder Woman 84, 9.Harley Quinn, 10. Suicide Squad. 1 and 2 change position and 4 and 5 change position on a regular basis depending on my mood. All of the others are where they are for a reason. Most people quite possibly and probably most definitely, won't agree with me and they are entitled to their opinions. :)

I liked honest trailers for this one because they hit on Black Adam's video game powers. Such a dull movie. Glad DCEU is getting a reboot and I love James Gunn, just wondering how he's gonna manage tone.

I saw Black Adam several times. It was a fun movie when that has been seriously lacking in movies. I could have seen Woke-anda Forever or seen Black Adam again, and there was no contest, the fun movie won out over the one pimping a narrative. Take note Hollyweird, we do not have to pay to see movies that are not fun and entertaining. Got it?

Haven’t seen the film yet? No. Will I watch it on HBOMax? Yes Is it all because I adore Aldis Hodge? 100% (seriously, if they bring anyone from the pre-Gunn DCEU, PLEASE let it be Aldis Hodge! He’s such a good actor, & honestly has an incredible range: let him be… anything he wants to be) Which did I prefer? Pitch Meeting for the screwball-comedy perfection of Ryan’s delivery, as well as his precision vivisection of the film.

I understand the need to reboot, but I just wish it didn't have to happen. I love the Snyderverse, and I was hoping that Gunn and Safran would whip the current universe into shape, but I get that they have a plan and are going for a clean slate. But I can't help missing the current versions of these characters. Man of Steel, BvS, and Zack's Justice League are my favorite comic-book movie trilogy, and Henry and Ben are my favorite incarnations of their respective characters. All that said, I'll give the reboot a fair chance.

This movie was great. Most peoples problems with it seem to stem from a lack of understanding rather then it just being bad. The scene where Black Adam is broken free from the water thing, that thing attached to his head is probably a little harder to pull off then a stocking cap... Not to mention he is getting beaten the whole time. I could go on, but seriously, a lot of it was fine. The reboot is a mistake and I bet it is WAY worse.

So you're ok with gunn rebooting everything and having us endure another 10 years of earth shit instead of him using his great writing and directing skills with cosmic material that we've seen with the guardians for shit we don't want to see or sit through again? Us fans are, and have been, ready for the next step of cosmic scenery and narrative. Stop being another person who wants to tie us down. He has all the tools here to craft something great. But instead he wants to wash it off, even when he said didnt want to not too long ago, and just do what he and WB wants. Their choice to bring caville back and just as quickly fire him is stupid. Henry caville is to superman what hugh jackman is to wolverine, or ryan reynolds is to deadpool, or tom holland to spiderman. It was a foolish mistake. I love your reactions. Personally I'd debate he's number 2 but that's probably a generational thing. For me Superman will always be Christopher Reeve's in part because he did Clark better as well as a wonderful superman. I can see Cavill being the one for the current generation as Reeve's last time donning the cape was in 1983 and Brendan Routh never really seemed a good fit to me. May also be in part Reeve's had 4 films to develop both sides of Clark while Cavill technically only had 1 as both BvS and JL were ensemble films that barely touched on Clark. I do agree with the rest of your post another reboot/origin story isn't really a good idea especially if they go with the current trend of watering things down and trying to insert jokes every 3 seconds.

So if Gunn followed YOUR way and failed, you still be bitching not being great. This is the same thing that happened with the Whedon/Snyder JL. Someone was brought after a started movie to make some changes and sell it as a Frankestein's project. Gunn has no obligation to continue the old universe, he and Safran feel more comfortable doing something new, in that way, if it fails, YOU can criticize every little detail and they can be accountable. Us fans? You're just an actor's fanboy and your last lines proves it: Hugh Jackman IS NOT the perfect Wolverine, Henry Cavill was never a great Superman even Tyler in the first episode of Superman &Lois did more for the character than Cavill in three movies, Tom Holland is the third Spider-Man and he can be replace AGAIN after some years. You're the worst type of fan, characters are much more than actors and I'm glad we'll have another take.
