The shaking the script might be one of my favorite pitch meeting jokes recently. He doesn't do many visual jokes so they always stand out 😂

I don't know how he still gets work. Studios give him millions and ask him to make a good PG13 movie at a reasonable runtime and he says "nope. I need a 5 hour cut that I can say is better than the one you all FORCED me to release." I look at it like this. Imagine a teacher gives out an essay assignment to their students. The essay can't be more than 5 pages long. One student gets their essay back and gets a D+. They go to the teacher and the teacher says that their paper was a unfocused mess that barely kept on topic and that student comes back and says "Well you wouldn't say that if you saw the 11 page essay I wrote up. It goes into a lot more detail and doesn't skimp over major information." Without a major IP for him to hide behind he's about as good a story teller as Stephanie Myers.

Honestly the warp portal thing with the ships is new either. I mean you got Event Horizon and Warhammer doing that as well. Although both actually have the ship traveling through what is basically hell which is a bit cooler and less sexual looking but whatever. Will say though it feels like because he's kind of rip multiple movies together he doesn't have a cohesive world, so things don't make sense. Like Warhammer, you can have uprisings like that but they established a lot of megaplexes have void shields so you can say the spaceship in orbit run by a tyrannical government can't bomb you because the shield stops that from happening. Star Wars has orbital batteries that stop that from happening. Battletech there are cultural reasons why people don't bomb cities into dust. It doesn't seem like any thought was put into the world at all.

At no point was there a single molecule in my body that was interested in seeing this movie or the sequel, but after seeing the pitch meeting and honest trailer for both, truly I think it's just hightime for Zack Snyder to stop making movies altogether, unless he's willing to actually learn and do something different. Make movies, not money.

The original Rebel Moon movie I think is called "A Child Of Fire." The original Star Wars movie is called "A New Hope." Both titles wouldn't exactly grab me if I didn't know the stakes of their respective movies. Do they have just as much the meat of such titles as "The Scargiver" or "The Empire Strikes Back?" This is the millennium falcon dollar question.

I like these Honest Trailers to Pitch Meeting comparisons. I didn't notice all the slow motion. Maybe only because my mind was not so much in the movie. I saw Pitch Meeting had a review of just part one, and rather than spoiling the movie with Pitch Meeting, I thought, I have Netflix, I could watch Rebel Moon this evening. Simple as that. I don't like to judge other people's interests, but me personally, I thought the sexy aliens in the cantina came off as cheesy. Not because I'm anti-space alien. The scene just came off as corny to me. I also think they missed a perfect chance to have what's his name tame that bird creature, then when he puts the cord around its beak for the saddle, they should've had the bird creature feel betrayed. All in all, I had fun in the moment as I usually do when I first see a new movie.

Did anyone else notice that this movie also had the same color grading as Sucker Punch and the same exact epic orchestral horn swells as in ZSJL… everyone always only talks crap about him constantly reusing slow-mo… he needs to seriously come up with some new tricks…. dude’s turning into the thinking man’s Michael Bay🤣

Out of this whole movie, the thing that confused me the most, is how and why a joystick in a gunners cabin on one side of the ship controls the ship's movement when the rebel leader guy dies after moving it

Once in a while my notifications will tell me someone liked my comment. But when I go look up said comment. There isn't a tiny number 1 next to the thumbs up choice. In the past I've always held out because I was afraid people would think I was thanking someone for no reason they could see. But I'm going to just go ahead and say thanks for the like. Always appreciated.

I'm kind of surprised neither one mentioned the warhammer 40k aesthetic. The movie did look pretty at many different times. The action scenes generally worked for me, though there were parts that didn't really make sense.

This movie is an okay time-killer but aesthetically and narratively just not my thing. Personally, as far as Star Wars-inspired films go, I highly recommend Gareth Edwards’ The Creator, a much more aesthetically believable and pleasing film with a somewhat familiar but engaging story. See if you enjoy it or not.

To this date 300 is still the only snider movie I can watch over and over. All his other movies meh at best. This movie felt so empty. I laughed when the rebel leader guy died. I’m like you gave no backstory on this guy and expect me to care 😂😂😂

I hate the whole snyder cut thing with a passion because this could set a precedent to release fucked up versions first and then promise a second version that supposedly fixes all the issues. This story is already garbage even adding some scenes won't magically fix all the broken shit that makes no sense. And can we please forbid snyder from writing and force him to only be a director because he sucks at evrrything else. Oh and for the love of god stop using slow motion in shots that are already in slow motion. That shit doesn't look good it is comical and feels like a parody at this point.

I am a fan of DOTD remake, Watchmen, 300 & JL Snyder Cut. I very much enjoyed Man of Steel but it felt more like a Nolan film. I wouldn’t have known he directed it if I wasn’t a fan. Director’s Cuts have been a thing for decades, but the Snyder trend feels different. It feels shady & tacky. Shady because it’s very obviously a lane tactic to get more $ from ppl, & tacky because it feels like you released something your not confident in & saved a “just in case” version if it bombs. The BVS Ultimate Edition didn’t have anything too heavy for theaters, it should’ve been the cut we originally got. Idk, kinda think Snyders talent may be running thin

It's not just a straight up clone of star wars it rips of everything. Some of the names are straight up rips from 40k which I wouldn't have thought if it was 1 or 2 but there are multiple, as well as the space vage is straight up warp travel or slipspace or similar.
