I thought this after the first one too, the problem is that the idea that Pennywise is letting them escape because they taste better when they're more afraid makes him so much less threatening. In the book, he fully plans to murder them in every scene, and they're only barely able to get away through various close calls and lucky breaks, and because of the mysterious force that brought them together and is guiding them. This is why the scenes where other children are murdered are so satisfying to read and watch. I was very happy there were more of those in this movie. also, I love Stefan, but What's Up With That is my favourite SNL sketch, every single one of them is gold, and I would have loved a Lindsay Buckingham reference lol

I remember years ago hearing Stephen King describing his writing method, & he said he puts all the effort into the first half of a book, because by then you have the reader hooked, so it doesn't matter if the rest is good or not, so you can just put down whatever the first thing that comes to mind is & get the book done & out to the publisher. He literally doesn't care about how his books end, & is pretty open about it (which is probably why he was happy to make jokes about it in his cameo)

'It' might be a stronger movie if you tighten it up into a single installment. Start with the adults out side of Darry having flash backs episodes to their childhood. They struggle to remember what happened and have forgotten. Mike tells them their instincts and brain is trying to get them to remember. Then they return once they realize enough. Etc

Bowers's cousin in the arcade was not the love of Richie's young life. Joe was right about Eddie. I do think they tried to show Richie's feelings a bit with the hammock scene - and the R+E he carved on the bridge - and his reaction to Eddie's death. But they could have done more. Eddie's last words in the book (which are different from what the film showed) hinted toward Eddie's own feelings.
@jasongeorgis34835 жыл бұрын
This movie was such a bummer because it seemed like they had all the right elements to make it great, but at the last minute got worried that people wouldn't like it if it was too different from the first one so they just bogged down an already packed movie with unnecessary kid action.

I think this movie gets a bad wrap. I really enjoyed it and never felt it's length. Sure it mirrors the first in some ways and can be a bit ridiculous.
