In regards to the epic voice one near the end, that’s not his voice. Epic Voice Guy did an ad with Ryan for Mint Mobile (which Ryan owns) so he’s calling out the fact that they had someone else do an epic voice in the movie instead of him, hence the “I thought we had something special”

WAIT! "All the stories have pretty much been told'!!! What a crock. Crack a book, Jaby. Look at all the stories there are out there that have never been adapted to films. Indeed, ALL the early films were based on books. Then independent writers began writing fresh stories for the screen, Hollywood is simply TRAPPED with the writers they have and too RISK ADVERSE to take a chance on new talent as they have done in the past.

If you're writing a movie about a guy becoming aware that he's in a fictional world, you are _gonna_ think back to _The Truman Show;_ that's just unavoidable. But the plot is _completely_ different. For one thing, it is never _about_ him becoming aware of the fictional world - that's just something that happens along the way, fairly late in the movie, and is dealt with rather quickly, so that it doesn't get in the way of the _actual_ plot - nor is it ever about him escaping from the fiction, because he is just as fictional as his world, and the fiction itself was never _about_ him. One of the parallels they count out in the Honest Trailer isn't just superficial or somewhat tenuous (like "Main character is a nice guy"). It's just simply false, any way you look at it: Buddy is in no way "designed to keep him immersed". First of all, _nothing_ in the game is designed to keep the NPCs immersed, because nobody expected any one of them to become self-aware, and thus nobody bothered to program anything to prevent it. Buddy _himself_ is "immersed", but he does nothing to hinder Guy's journey at any point. He is initially disturbed by the changes in Guy - just like anyone would be, if their long-time friend started acting crazy out of character - but the worst you can say is that he was too scared to step outside his own role, when Guy first offered it. I could make a list that's _at least_ as long as the one in the video, about all the substantial, non-superficial ways that _Free Guy_ is completely different from _The Truman Show,_ but I know that they're just joking around and they're fully aware that they're massively overstating the similarities for comic effect.
