Props be to Guardians Vol. 3 and the trilogy in general for both having a consistent directorial vision for all of the stand alone features and making the best of their worlds and concepts and characters. It really was so relieving to see this film do well, look like it actually cost 200 Mil to make AND manage to feel like it earned it's PG-13 rather than feeling like a slightly hard PG like they usually do.

GG3 is the first super hero movie in years (not counting Spiderverse 2) to actually make me feel some kind of real emotion other than mild humor or nostalgia. Who would have known such an obscure comic adaptation would end up with marvels most consistent movie franchise.

I've been desensitized and I feel nothing for death in movies usually, but the otter got me because obviously I love otters and animals in general! James Gunn is GREAT at balancing humor with real emotion. And with the High Evolutionary and White Dragon in Peacemaker, he makes villains that are so bad BECAUSE they could actually be real which makes it worse. James Gunn is fantastic and this is the only movie to almost make me tear up.😢

@@kickass2117 Yeah, *that* is how a movie should trample a heartfelt moment, with something that feels like a natural part of the scene instead of screaming goats. Just a reminder that PETA got caught stealing people's pets from their homes, even trespassing to do it, and killing them because they think death is better than captivity, including domesticated animals being beloved family pets. I almost cried (I'm a man, so obviously I can't actually cry) at the part Rocket Raccoon was near death and was crying over letting his friends down. Because I thought that was the most relatable thing ever done in a Marvel movie. Every dream I have is about me trying to either apologize to my loved ones since I failed them and live in daily guilt knowing they died because I didn't do enough or just trying to see them one last time. Literally every night since I was 16. Crazy to think the number of dead family members has only gone up since. This is exactly why I no longer feel I deserve family. Didn't mean to truma dump, my point is it was a great movie.

Not ashamed to admit that this movie had my crying so much, especially at the end. It's an outright fantastic movie and the ONLY Marvel trilogy that was great from start-to-finish. Also, who didn't know that when Groot said "I love you guys" that he still said "I am Groot" in actuality? That's why none of the others reacted differently to what he said. That moment was when the audience finally understood him.

I absolutely loved this movie. It was the perfect third movie. Perfect end to the trilogy. The GotG movies have always been able to get more emotion out of me than any of the other MCU movies, but this one just pulled out all the stops. I want more sets of movies like this where they don't have to bend to fit the bigger MCU picture and just allowed to tell a great story. I'm looking forward to what Gunn does with DC.
