I think the next Shazam should have the Kids actor played/acted out the scene before the Adult actor, so they can take notes/refrences on how the kids would actually act in that scenario.

Really have the adult act out the scene for the kid. The actor playing the character for the majority of the movie gets to decide the tone. Not sure if the Shazam have a different personality when powered though.

@@granatmof I mean, that's not always the right way to go about it. In Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks based the entire character off the child actor playing the young version of Gump because it was easier for him to copy the kid than have the kid try to act like he did.

Glad to hear more criticism on the disconnect between the two actors' respective portrayals of Billy. It was honestly a critique I had of the first movie too. Levi seemed to be angling just a bit too young and immature compared to Angel's petulant teen, but the performances on their own were good enough that you could at least chalk it up to Billy acting more like a child when he's convinced his adult form is fooling everyone. But at this point the chasm between them is just too great and Levi's performance is way too hyped up.

I am so glad it isn't just my twin and I who can't stand that about these movie's. My brother stopped watching this movie after the Shazam Therapist part but we both think Black Adam was pretty good even though we can't stand Dewayne Johnson.

Yeah Asher's portrayal of a kid that mature too fast is good in 1 and seeing Billy in Shazam form is basically manchild is weird if you watched the original kid persona.

@ashyverse2312
@ashyverse2312 Жыл бұрын
I don't exactly think its that disconnect but see it that a kid like billy with several trauma and sort of a hard shell who barely lets anyone in suddenly feels safe when he turns into Captain Marvel thereby bringing out his inner child hence the immaturity......I might be right or wrong but thats how I see it😩
@TomCruz54321
@TomCruz54321 Жыл бұрын
@@ashyverse2312 Shazam is literally the same person 2 seconds earlier when he was Billy. Nobody has a complete personality change in 2 seconds. Bit more confident? Yes. Bit more self-secure? Yes. On the first movie it didn't bother me because it felt reasonable: a normal teen suddenly gets super powers and the body of an adult. Of course he's gonna act cocky and awkwardly act the way he thinks an adult behaves. But by the second movie it felt very jarring because: 1. He should have gotten used to it 2. His unpowered self isn't a kid anymore 3. He still acts that way in front of his family, who actually knows his real identity

I actually think they should've focused more on the children, they're really good actors considering that Levi only acts like an even younger child version of Billy. Developing their children characters with Billy's clear trauma would've been a good way to also tie in the ending about being "worthy", with Billy's actor. idk if thats just me, but it kinda tells when the star Billy Batson has less time than co-star Freedy. Why even have young Billy at all if you aint gonna use him?

It's kinda accurate how Asher is more mature than Zackery because if you're kid with extremely troubled stressful life you definitely try to act way mature than your age for your own protection. But if given you're given the opportunity to grow into an adult the same day, you lose the purpose to act mature and act like a kid all over again trying to retrieve your lost childhood. Take Bella porch for example.

Shazam is literally the same person 2 seconds earlier when he was Billy. Nobody has a complete personality change in 2 seconds. Bit more confident? Yes. Bit more self-secure? Yes. These two look like totally different characters. If their names weren't in the credits I would never think they're the same person.

If nothing else, I give this film credit for surprising me by having Djimon Hounsou get WAY more screentime than I was ever expecting, even moments to be both funny and relevant, especially considering he wasn't in the first film much. So thanks for giving him some time to remind us how wasted he is in 85% of the stuff he is in. And the Dr. Savanna stinger being a troll. I can't help but laugh at them making fun of "This will make sense in due time...just be patient." style. Just a shame it wasn't attached to a better film.

40 years ago Alan Moore did his take on the Marvel Family. It was so good that DC Comics hired him. The story included a scene like one used in, "The Boys" series - a Superman character burning the head of a woman with his heat-vision just to show how he didn't care about anything. The same magazine also debuted "V for Vendetta".

1 year old!!! This sequel leans more towards the fun action than the previous film Not all the jokes work but I got some decent chuckles No pacing issues though it gets straight to the point, you don’t feel any lags Still retains the comedy and lightheartedness; it’s balanced well and has a good amount of heart Loving Zachary Levi still and I like the addition of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu They act like actual sisters with conflicting ideals One amazing cameo from another DC character! Dives deeper into the Greek mythology and so many inside references to the comics Sandberg inserts all kinds of crazy creatures from unicorns to gorgons to dragons etc. Dylan Grazer in particular is the heart and center of the picture believing he can fly solo; yet he realizes just because you’re friends with the cool heroes doesn’t necessarily make you cool The story here centers on wish fulfillment; asking if you’re enough, if you’ll be left behind all over again, being the best person you can be is god like, you don’t have to do everything on your own, the tighter you hold onto your loved ones the more they pull away A step down from the original in some ways but still exciting and action-packed enough to make for a fun time with lots of personality
