The synchtube-group I frequent decided to watch it last month as part of a Bad-Movie-Thon. We all expected it to be so bad it is bad, but it was worse. It was soulsuckingly bad. You can joke about the badness only for the first 5-10 minutes but then you start to realise that they didn't even try just a tiny bit, it is an utter and complete advertising cashgrab. Kind of like Jack & Jill but even worse, because some Hardcore Sandler-fans still can extract some enjoyment out of that crap.

My friend went to see this movie. She described it as enjoyable. This inspired me to watch the movie, since this was the first good review I'd heard for it. So I went home, watched it. When she asked me what I thought of it, it turns out that I'd found the movie so bad that after going off on a rant about it, I ended by saying 'at least I don't remember any toilet humour'. Fortunately, it was her having to remind me of the horror of patrick stewart voicing a poop emoji that made her realise that the movie is not enjoyable, just insufferable.

This is my idea for how they could've made a good Emoji Movie. Keep in mind I haven't actually seen the Emoji Movie, ironically I've only heard about the plot from the internet: So what they needed to do was come up with a strong message somewhat related to emojis, and then mirror whatever was going on with the emojis with the teenager who owns the phone. For example I heard the main characters face keeps changing and it's something he can't really control. Maybe make that part of the message by giving that teenager Tourette disorder or another disorder like that. Is the message about you controlling your emotions or learning to open up about how you're feeling? Make the teenager be going through something and struggling with that. Are they doing a ready player one like thing and making it about not spending your whole life on you're phone? That's actually harder to have the emojis learn than that teen actually. Who knows, maybe they could have the main emoji and that teen talk to eachother.
