I loved Past Lives, and it was my personal favorite movie of last year. It was nice to see a simple but very relatable story told really well and sincerely. I loved Oppenheimer and definetely think it deserves best picture, but man, that JFK namedrop was so awkward. Like they could have just has Stauss' aid just casually list the three senators that killed his nomination, but no, they had to build it up like a huge cheer moment: "Some Senator from Massachusetts trying to make a name for himself, John F Kennedy" (which isn't even true, BTW, Kennedy was already well known by then) Glad honest trailers called that out. It really did feel like an MCU moment.
