She has explained before that she gets involved in every step of the movie. Instead of waiting in a dressing room. Getting to know how everyone works and being part of the process is what allowed her to have this creative freedom. Some actors just take on the role but you don’t hear much about them talking to the workers or learning about what the different teams are doing. They also I’m sure had a lot of say in what jobs she took and how she worked.

Dare I say Zendaya changed the landscape for how Disney actors are capable of transitioning into mainstream Hollywood. Just look at Jenna Ortega and Ariana Greenblat, I know Hollywood tends to not take child actors seriously due to the particular style of acting they use on DC. She definitely started a trend which isn’t easy to follow, but it has definitely allowed more breathing room for child actors to attempt their hand at crossing over.
@13realmusic2 ай бұрын
I think the transition to acting is easier for Disney kids than it is to go with singing. Like Sabrina Carpenter is just starting to blow up as a star and Olivia Rodrigo was also launched by a big pop moment. Folks are aware of others like Dove Cameron, but it’s sadly not leading to a ton of success.

@@13realmusic Sofia Carson too. Her singing career needs to take off too. But as for acting-transitions to singing-transitions, there is nuance in terms of which is easier. Christina, Britney, Selena, Miley, Demi had it easier bc Disney Chanel was at its prime and heavily focused on music. Sabrina, Olivia, Dove, Sofia and other later Disney Channel stars have it much harder because less people watch the Disney Chanel during primetime nowadays.
@user-l6v2p2 ай бұрын
@@13realmusicBritney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Olivia Rodrigo all notably ignored Hollywood Records and went straight to a major label for their entire careers. @user-l6v2p Demi, Selena, and Miley rose meteorically, not slowly. However, all three of them also had very publicly exposed personal lives as well. What also helped zendaya is that she wanted to do acting / singing / dancing in the first place and her parents never forced her. Her parents were also supportive. Unlike other actors who would take up any role available since they are the bread winner of the family or forced to do it. I also remember her in an episode in ANTM, since zendaya is tall and quite skinny she could easily pass as a model, I think that’s what also helped her propel her career through fashion
@marshinz56962 ай бұрын
I think one of the biggest things she did was choose to not pursue music. She was good but where the soiling of most of the Disney Stars happens is via how they are portrayed through their Music Vehicles. They are kinda "adultified" in an inorganic way using their music and risque Videos. Since, she chose Fashion over "skimp and winding" videos she has maintained a bit of wholesomeness that most girls coming out of the Disney machine have lost long before they are the young age she is now(Brittany lost hers when Hit Me Baby or whatever released lol I have said I'm old!!)..

A question we should be asking is why main leads are always in such a rush to leave Disney channel and “rebrand” I get feeling like you’ve outgrown the network, however many voluntarily leave the network and we never see them act again or their not as mainstream as they were. Why leave a good job for a life of uncertainty? So many do this and this just goes to show you how toxic working for Disney must be.
@chichilafemme63362 ай бұрын
Financially yea it’s a good job but unless you are okay with not being critically and commercially successful as a person, (which is why certain adults stay or circle back like the dude who played Jason on Hannah Montana) but if you know you want to have a big career, yea it’s a risk but it’s a high reward. Miley achieved commercial success with bangers, and now with flowers getting her her first Grammy, she achieved critical success. Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and on a slightly lesser extent demi lovato and raven symone were able to solidified their careers as an adults. Yeah Miley was made fun of a lot but she ultimately won, she achieved more than her costars ever did. And even leads of other shows. And then there’s people like Bridget mendler who leave all together, but is living a fruitful life.disney is toxic but even if it wasn’t, most people aren’t passionate about children’s media as an adult so it makes sense why they leave. And tbh Disney isn’t even a stable job anymore at least the channel.

i don't understand why hollywood dosen't respect disney child actors, and wants to push them to look like adults, like ryan gosling, leo dicaprio started on Disney, if you are able to manage that kind of preasure i would think you are trust worthy to any studio movie
