One more kids note. On kids island they have a zip line and one football pitch and a tennis/ basketball court. At the start is a nice lookout of the city and the dancing house. It’s really a small cafe, but when it’s closed it’s nice to have a lunch overlooking the Vltava before park with the kid!

When visiting Prague my second time in 2009 I visited a place called Smíchovská pláž. There was a very nice kind of large outdoor restaurant popular with locals by the river. But a couple of years later it seemed to be gone.

It's Coypu/Nutria they escaped from farms few decades ago I don't exactly know why were farms established I haven't even heard of any use from these animals... Sorry for any mistakes you find in my comment xD

From my reading, the nutria was brought from South America in the 19-20th century for fur and meat to parts of europe but never really caught on. My daughter hates me when I tell her that though! But they are crazy friendly on shooters island and love carrots….kids and photographers love them. Swans….not so much!!

It's also fun to bike from Stromovka, cross the Troya bridge, and continue downstream along Vodácká. You can watch kayakers run the course at the Prague-Troja Canoeing Centre while sipping a beer from a small food stand. Continuing downstream you arrive at the new footbridge (Nová Trojská lávka) and from here you have lots of choices ... 1) cross the bridge and return to Stromovka, 2) visit Troja Chateau/Garden/Maze, 3) go to the Prague Zoo just past Troja Garden (zoo is on the river too!), and 4) slight backtracking detour to go to Trojský Sklep - vinotéka ( a cool hidden wineshop with plenty of bikerack space and tasty snacks/wines ... Want your water bottle filled with wine? No problem here!).

Prague can be a bit of a tourist trap. It is beautiful though. But consider not only going to Prague but also take a trip around some other places in CZ or the surrounding countries. Honest Guide is really helping with the tourist-trap thing, they're showing amazing places off the beaten path.

Could the translation be river bank? Also, very cool video! Btw I highly suggest going the other way down south past Vyšehrad into Podolí. Many cool places for beer, food and sights of the river and Žluté lázně (Yellow spas), whisch is also a great place for drinking, eating and doing some sports (when it's not corona). ☺️ Side note: náplava is everything that the river drags down the stream and it settles somewhere (like sticks, rocks etc.) and náplavka is from that word, because originally, they were these piles of stuff that the river dragged towards the sides and made these platforms you can walk on. I have been to Prague twice, December 2018 and 19, from Brasil. It's sad to see the impact the pandemic is having on tourism. I mean the good tourists, who bring revenue and develop the tourist industry. Everything empty, closed and certainly lots of shops/bars/restaurant owners, broke. Too sad. But we will be back soon!
