Very interesting dish. I have never made or eaten pulao / kichdi with channa dal. I will definitely try. In Karnataka this Raita (without using smoking coal) is almost always made with pulao or biriyani (Veg or non veg). We call it " Mosaru bajji" in Kannada. (Mosaru means curds). Very simple and tasty. Very popular. Thank you for the recipe.

Super pulav. Even we can use boiled whole white channa also.This raita, generally we call it "Daan-ger"(spell like don+ ghar) pachdi. One important ingredient in this is adding roasted urad dal grinded powder plus hing and green chilli. I remember a time in 1966-1970 our financial situation was not good this raita "curd, urad dal roasted powder, salt and green chilli". We lick it and eat our food.
