We call this “chane ki dal ki khichdi” Eating it since childhood. My mom used to make it exactly the same way, she would add ginger garlic paste with onions. Tasted so good 😋😋😋

We make the same and we don't use asafoetida, but before washing the dal we slightly dry roast it. Then we wash it and make it the same way .We have a combo of raitha and date chatni . Usually this is had on Saturday because Sunday will be exemplary party with all the cousins..

Kunal ji i make the chutney using sesame seeds instead of peanuts nd tamarind instead of lemon juice. 😊 that's bcos I'm frm vizag nd we use tamarind nd sesamee seeds more in our cooking.
