about TG36, I am one of user…very bad quality control, maybe no quality control at all. 1.Gun body is easy to scatch, after 1st week I bought, I put this gun in the bag with magazine and go to shoot range, after I finished and go back home I found a deep cut in the middle of gun body. That is my first time I realize this gun is not reliable. 2. I bought many parts for this gun, include B&T hand guard and spur AR magazine well. Unfortunately, those part are not much fit on TG36. Spur magwell cause A LOT of feeding problem. and original pin of this gun' quality is disaster! It's easy break, so I have to buy new pin from HK part. B&T hand guard? After I punch it in it works well. 3. TG36's pistol brace. That is another disaster. You CAN NOT believe I just put my TG36C lean against wall and trying to open gunlock, it fall. Then that pistol brace break to 3 pieces immediately! Until now I still feel angry how could I paid $250 (maybe 350?) to get this trash? Are you kidding me Tom Bostic? The other problem: enhanced trigger from HK parts is not fit and I realize even original trigger's material is wrong. Tommy Build "Flat" carry handle's rail you can't put sig red dot on it, and one of screw just gone. And Every parts for TG36, whatever it's from Tommy Build or from HK part, they are overpriced (for example, the screw on HK part is $5.99, one fking "flat" carry handle is $599), and you need wait for a long time for back to stock (that screw I wait for 2 month now). Be honest. if it's not G36 style gun. I willing throw this trash can and burn it off. But it is. So I will use it until the end. But as one of owner, I really suggest anyone who love G36 and trying to buy it, give it up, forget about it. Don't waste your money and love on this junk. You deserve better.

and one of secret I found. So after I bought this gun, I had one idea about getting new M-lok hand guard for my TG36C. So I found it on Tommy Build website. But before I bought it I make more research. Then I found one post from HK part discussion from 2017, there was a guy made 3D print design for G36 m-lok hand guard. and under that post you can see Tom Bostic say "yes". and that is exactly same design I found from his website. Considering with my pistol brace. I really don't want to know what kind of material Tom Bostic used on the gun. It is more than $2650 gun. How could a guy treat so bad to customers who believes him?

WWSD enjoyer here. No issues, no bolt issues, no cracking, I like the lightness and feel the loss of custom grip/ length of pull is a non issue for the weight savings. I also love the neo retro esque look of the rifle which comes from the old school looking stock with the carbon fiber handguard.
@TomSalesJr Жыл бұрын
Having watched the series on making the wwsd, I understand and agree with the decision to not have adjustable length of pull or interchangeable grips. It saves a lot of weight and 90 something % of people use the standard length of pull. I get that Mrs. Outlaw is of a vastly different frame size to Mr. Outlaw, but the requirement that you have the lightest competition/bug out rifle possible is a niche requirement, just like both 6'4 and 5'1 people on the same gun is also a niche requirement. Turns out they're exclusive. That being said, I didn't buy one. It was too much money.

I bought a stripped KP-15 lower and finished it with an Aero Precision LPK. Some things I like: 1. it's relatively inexpensive (at least at the time I bought it, I haven't checked lately). 2. It feels lighter. t think I can tell the difference, even with the rather conventional upper that's installed currently. 3. It seems durable (although I haven't subjected it to any abuse to test that). 4. It has a generously flared mag well. Some things I don't like: 1. The safety is less like a switch and more like the petcock on an old dirt bike. 2. The pistol grip is much better than an A2, but slightly worse than a Magpul MOE grip (and, of course, you can't change the angle). 3. For a molded plastic part, some areas of the stock should have be more sculpted. The area between the pistol grip and the trigger guard is particularly bad as it is just simply squared-off and not even close to ergonomic. Overall, even though there are things I would change, I'm pleased with my purchase.
@workingguy-OU812 Жыл бұрын
I made the mistake of taking my WWSD lower apart to try to change out the trigger. I lost a part of the proprietary safety, and my aftermarket trigger doesn't fit. I really should spend the extra to get the parts I need to put it back together again.

Brownell's isn't producing the WWSD or taking it in trade, not because of issues with the gun, but because of issues with Karl of InRange. We hate to see the Homesteader on this list - and it sounds like most of y'all do too. Our engineering team was eager to get their hands on this particular Homesteader after the first review, and subsequently diagnosed the gun with a malfunctioning latch spring in the Henry magazine-well adapter. We comprehensively test fired the gun internally after replacing the spring, and couldn't replicate these reliability issues. Without having our eyes on the gun after the second review - using a different Glock magazine-well adapter - we can't speak to what was causing continued malfunctions. We recommend the use of OEM Gen 3-5 Glock 17 and 19 magazines, and advise that this rifle be lubed sparingly, but it's unclear what factors led to the unreliable operation in this case. Ultimately, we would have been happy to replace this rifle - we're just as disappointed in the way it performed as all of you are. We've shipped thousands of Homesteaders since their launch, and haven't identified a pattern of malfunctions similar to those you experienced.

You can get a pic rail backing plate that will allow for any type of stock or brace you could want, and all it's controls are ambidextrous too. True value option would be building out a gun with a complete "mil-spec" KP15 lower ($120 on brownells at the time of this post), PSA lightweight upper (daily deal $350), and your choice of sights. This budget option will be super cheap and at least 85% as good as a tricked out gun. Of course playing that game ultimately leads to getting whatever PSA AR build kit is on daily deal (MOE furniture basic carbine length gas M4 profile 16" right now for $300)and the cheapest stripped lower you can find (usually Anderson or PSA). Diminishing gains are very real. I wouldn't worry about ambi-controls when building to value. Standard AR controls are positioned well enough for use right or left handed. The charging handle is the same with either hand by default (slingshot). You can hit the mag release easily with the thumb of your hand that's removing the mag and can reach the bolt release with the trigger finger when shooting lefty. we're talking about fractions of a second difference by building it out full ambidextrous controls. This isn't a gun where you're contorting to reach with the other hand.

Stribog SP9 A3. Great gun, great customer service. Minor issues with straight mags, they changed the follower, then changed to curved. The only issue is the magazines are proprietary. This video is just proof money does NOT equal reliability. My $450 Rock Island M1911 is maybe the most reliable gun I have ever owned. It was my first 1911 and made me fall in love with the 1911 platform. To be honest, I rarely clean it or anything but with thousands of .45acp rounds through it at this point it has NEVER malfunctioned even once God's honest truth. I have had more issues with my Glocks that with that cheap ass 1911. P.S. Totally agree about the Tombstone. I'd do more 9mm damage with my Glock 17 in rapid fire than I would with that thing.

The WWSD started out as an exercise to build a rifle for general infantry use with Eugene Stoner's original concept in mind. Use the lightest but still durable modern materials available. What the WWSD became is a infantry rifle posing as a competition gun. If you build one and forgo the expensive carbon fiber and exclusive bolt carrier and recoil parts, then you have a decent light AR that comes in at below $700. I've built one and intend to build another. The KE Arms lower works fantastic and seems much more refined and durable than the CavArms attempt before it (which I also have). I also like fixed stock ARs better and I'm not a grip snob.

I don't understand the dishonorable mention for the 80x. I get it that the ergos suck for a big guy but for average sized people it is not an issue. Comparing a compact .380 to a pocket pistol is inappropriate. They have different roles. The Beretta Cheetah series was a popular police pistol in Europe in both .32 and .380. It is the Italian competitor to the PPK, the official pistol of the Gestapo, and it is a much better pistol.
@stevem4783 Жыл бұрын
I agree. It's disliking the gun for a reason that makes no sense - it doesn't compete with the lighter, cheaper, polymer .380s and it isn't meant to. It's like hating on a bigger car because you can get the same engine in a smaller one. Sometimes you don't want the smallest, cheapest option.
@cletustheslackjawedyokel60838 ай бұрын
The 80x is bigger than many 9mm handguns, weighs more and has snappier recoil even though it’s only a .380. So a very high quality big .380 that is more unpleasant to shoot than a 9mm of similar size.

I will say I think if you don’t mind the fixed stock and a fugly gun…. The WWSD lower is a pretty damn good buy at like 250 bucks for one with an upgraded trigger, with sales very often. I see what he’s saying about the WWSD not LOOKING the best but I think with the lower it’s so ugly it’s loveable. But that’s just me. That being said I haven’t put an insane amount of rounds through it so I can’t speak to reliability
@SuperVeeZee Жыл бұрын
I'll second this. I don't miss the adjustability, and I've put over a thousand rounds through my home-build using what is basically a Ballistic Advantage mid-length upper on a KP15 lower. It's a solid lower. I was expecting to have to do some tuning, since I threw it together and immediately started shooting it suppressed...but no. It just ran. And it's still running. Is it for everybody? No. But at about $150 for a stripped lower, and about $100 more for some appropriate internals, the lower itself is a worthwhile purchase.

@@eargesplitten9876 I pre-ordered mine when they were first released, and I got four. By the time I got them from the FFL, they were AROUND $150 each OTD between the cost of the lower, shipping, and transfer. But my other three will be staying. Especially my FDE one, knowing they won't be doing another run of those any time soon.
@eargesplitten9876 Жыл бұрын
@@SuperVeeZee They might have dropped the price of them, I know when I bought 5 with the discount it was something like $375 shipped (from AZ to CO) and then I paid another 30 for the transfers which was a lucky find. That comes out to 80 each, but it would probably be significantly more if you were just getting the one. Still a good deal for a lower with the stock, "buffer tube", and grip assuming you're okay with the stock length and grip. I'm not picky about grips and the A1 length fits me fine even with a plate carrier, so I'm very happy with mine. I can't see myself picking a traditional lower for any build but a heavy precision build where I want a highly adjustable stock and lots of weight for shooting off a bench. And yeah they said they won't do FDE runs again, doing different colors requires testing the polymer since the colorants change the physical properties of the plastic. Just not worth it at this point.

I feel like the WWSD is not entirely fairly portrayed here. The reason for the price is its not a manufactured firearm from a single company. All it basically offers is Brownells offering all the parts put together in one place. All the parts are from different companies that aren't actually working together. They picked parts that were their choice for the best option and Brownells offered it as a setup to buy in one click instead of having to buy all the parts separately. InRangeTV did a video of a very very budget version with the KP-15 polymer lower with a standard budget upper with a good red dot for approx $500. So you can make it cheap if you want to, just build your own, your own way. The point was the choices were the best for weight and reliability and cost wasn't really meant to be a factor. The stock and grip have been talked about to death and are the most common length and style and most people are fine with it. The rest is all changable if one specific thing annoys you. It may not look the coolest but its meant to be good for running about in 2 gun comps.

@@TriZaba It was because of Karl. His left leaning/inclusive beliefs and associating with the transgender community among other things sparked off some internet drama. Karl decided to dive into the drama headfirst instead of just ignoring it which fanned the flames pretty hard. Brownells seems to have decided they don't like his politics or his social beliefs and shit canned the whole thing. They were straight up liquidating all KE Arms/WWSD related products using the discount code "TRIGGERED" . I only saw the surface of it as it didn't look like anything I really wanted to dig into. The internet is enough of a cesspool as is without deliberately wading in towards deeper waters. How accurate all of that information is, your guess is as good as mine. There may or may not be threads on Reddit and Arfcom (which is where it all supposedly started) that have more information. After 200 rounds mine has never jammed in .44 or .50AE. I think Im at 4000 now. Their stock magazines had a slightly off shape which caused loading issues with .44 because they aren't designed for semi auto pistols. They're meant for lever action and revolvers. I don't recommend them to people either. If it's power you're looking for with a pistol I recommend the 10mm or 460 Roland. Plus you can get 14-18 rounds with 10mm.
