I bought a shield carry comp yesterday. The trigger was surprising. Everybody always talks shit about M&P triggers, but this one’s as good as anything I’ve seen from Canik and three times better than that hellcat trigger From what I felt in the gun store of the hellcat. If the shield is reliable, this is going to be my number one concealed carry gun. And will replace my 365s which both have proven to not be reliable overtime and rounds.

Chris, the Hellcat Pro Comp has a 3.7 inch barrel. I have had mine for a couple of months or so. The Sig P365 X-Macro Comp has a 3.1 inch barrel.

I have the hellcat pro “non comp” with an apex type 3 trigger and that thing has been my carry gun this year and I have very much enjoyed it. Recently put a 407k red-dot.

3.7 inch barrel. I got mine from the store with the gear up package so I paid mid 700's and it came with 5 mags and a range bag as well as the pistol and red dot.

I have a normal hellcat no pro in it but i did get plenty of 15 round mags for it so my whole hand can fit on it, i do like it alot however its snappy from being a micro pistol. I grabbed an echelon a few months ago and love it. Will be movin up to the pro soon.

I was hoping for more commentary on the barrel rise or lack thereof compared to the Pro and the original hellcat. Triggers all the same - they’re good. You buy this comp for quick, accurate follow up shots. I don’t use a red dot. Seemed like you got shots on target.

I've been trying out a bunch of those HandleIt grip on pistols that had/have Talon grips. They have proven to be less durable than Talons because they tend to peel around certain edges after relatively short use on a variety of pistols. YMMV.

No matter which gun we buy, we always want the best trigger that it can have. Some after market triggers do a great job on some guns, others not so much. That's why I prefer a great trigger straight from the factory. The Shield Plus is one such pistol with a great out of the box trigger, fantastic grip & fiber optic sights, but is frustrating to run a red dot due to carbon fouling of the front lens of the dot and more stovepipe mals from the empties bouncing off the dot back into the open chamber. The 2nd Gen CZ P10C is great with an after market trigger, as well as after market fiber optic sights & rubber Talon grips (my favorite pistol after the mod updates), but the one I bought is not cut for a dot and prefer irons in competition for better accuracy (for me) over the wavy dot. The Sig P365 series triggers not so great but they're not bad either, just mushier than I want. Problem with the P365's are that you want to or need to change the grip module, do a trigger upgrade, & I even changed the OEM front sight to a fiber optic DP sight so I can see the sight in less than optimal lighting conditions. With all the good but never perfect guns out there, you shouldn't have to compromise too much on the trigger or anything else. Unfortunately, it seems all guns are a compromise, but they are getting better and better. Thanks for the video!

biggest advantage the Sig P365 has is that you can do just that. Hopefully in the future Springfield releases a modular Hellcat.

The Meprolight red dot has an auto brightness function that was being effected by something... maybe the gasses from the comp. Put it on manual brightness, adjust it to your taste and it should work fine. I've had no problems with mine.

It also has a flicker function when the battery is low. I'm hoping that's what it was because I have the RMR version on the way😂🙄.

I have not used the micro dot but I have used the MPO Pro-S which is the micro with the closed emitter, and my experience was good. I have only used it so far on the range, but so far it has held zero and the dot has been solid. Kind of sad because Meprolight always used to put out quality products at decent prices.

So many variations of this model, but I personally still think the RDP is the way to go. 15 round mag gives you the extra grip while giving you a threaded barrel, comp, and small frame if you want to go really small.

You can send your Hellcat Pro to Monsoon Tactical and they'll cut the comp and relocate the front sight. I did it to my Hellcat Pro back in 2022.

For the money and out of the box, the HC pro comp is the best deal. However, I still favor the P365 family for the customization capabilities, but it does add to the cost. The choice depends on each person’s budget and preference.

just traded my regular hellcat pro for an M&P 2.0 compact, the hellcat was a long and large gun with a thin grip that didn't leave much room for my hand to grip and was overall about as big as a Glock 17 with the larger mag with none of the benefit of a large gun, the micro 9s are comfy to carry and thats about it

The shield by far performed better than the hellcat. Since then I have purchased multiplie smith and wesson pistols. None of which have disappointed. I will start with, I love your content. The grip upgrades. I feel that's a bit of a stretch. If you buy a Glock, you learn to use a glock.if you buy, say, a sig, you learn to use a sig. But, the hellcat pro does not need stippling. Unless Springfield drastically messed up since 2023.

Thinking about getting the regular Hellcat Pro without any add-ons. Sights would be good for my 71 year old eyes and I can just hand it to someone else without a lot of training in case something happens at home. Can't do that with my CZ 75 B SAO. Probably put a TacRack on the Hellcat.

I hate micro guns so I avoided the P365 XL my wife bought that I absolutely hate just like I hate every other micro gun. I did buy the Hellcat RDP just to have a carry micro and I don't' actually hate it. P365 has a crap trigger and the RDP doesn't. Would have been if this one had been out when I was in the market as it looks pretty nice. Would have bought this one to be sure.

Lot of comments tryna talk about the m&p comp. Personally the hellcat feels like it shot flatter than the compact m&p comp. Just my opinion but I do own both and have a few range trips with each now

M&p trigger (performance center) is obviously better than the hellcat but also it’s $800-$810 after tax compared to hellcat which for me was $100 less. Identical front sight posts. To me the texture felt the same/equal in aggressiveness. I think the hellcat prolly the better option for carry and m&p for duty and range toy maybe.

Great review, as always. As for the optic, I have that same one, a Meprolight MPO-S, on my Hellcat osp. Put that on because I wanted to co-witness the sights which I can't do with a Holosun k series and the required adapter plate. Have around 100 rounds through it now, with no flickering and no other problems. That sight has an auto and manual adjust feature. Maybe the comp is messing with the auto-adjust? I'm wonder if you'll see the same issues with it in manual.
