I wish more breakdown videos would be like this. Seems like they all have a million things to say that aren't necessary. This video helped me a lot with my new Hellcat Pro thank you

First time ever cleaning a gun and I was able to follow along without pausing, great detail, great description, great job. Thank you

Great video, many thanks. For me not too fast, not too slow. Excellent lighting and camera work. No distracting background music. Here's hoping to your online success.

Right! This was so good I saved it in my hellcat file so I can refer back to it if needed.

Wow, this is great. As new gun owner who is uncomfortable with how to care for a gun or even take it apart to clean, this was perfect. This was great! This is simple and gave me so much confidence. I am sure it will take practice, but will just keep watching the video as I go through the process.

You did a great job explaining each step. It was a great refresher for me. Thanks for taking the time to do it properly.

Awesome video! Ty sooo much! My husband is usually the one that does my firearm maintenance, and my Hellcat is my daily carry. He hasn't really had time to show me how to both strip and clean. Now I don't have to bug him to do both! Lol he might be a little upset because I know he likes doing it for me but it's still important for me to know.

Question. Just put 100 rounds through my Hellcat Pro. Your directions were perfect. The only thing that did not work is the last check. Pointing in a safe direction and squeezing the trigger. On the trigger squeeze it does not fire, no action. What could that be? Thank you.

Did you try racking the slide to reset the trigger?

I'll fire and clean this gun once every couple years, if that, so wrote myself a condensed set of instructions. Am offering them here for others like me. Where wrong, please correct as needed. Hellcat Pro disassemble reassemble lubricate DISASSEMBLE Remove magazine. Pull slide to rear, look in chamber, confirm no bullet. Lock slide to rear. Rotate takedown lever up (clockwise) to 12 o'clock. Pull slide to rear then let it come forward. Pull trigger. Will feel some resistance. Slide can be pulled off frame. Remove recoil spring and barrel. Now to clean and lubricate. LUBRICATE "One (1) drop on each side of rear slide railways." (Back of slide.) Put slide back on frame. Slide back and forth 5-10 times. One (1) drop on top of chamber area of barrel. Lock slide to rear. One (1) drop on top of barrel, 1/4" from top of muzzle. Slide back and forth 5-10 times. REASSEMBLE Put barrel and spring back into slide. Put slide back onto frame. Pull slide to rear and lock it there. Rotate takedown lever CCW to 9 o'clock. Release slide forward. Done.

Thanks for sharing! Just FYI, I think you forgot the clean section.

I was wondering about the front part of the frame. I rented the Pro and underneath the barrel it looked silver as if the paint came off the frame. Have you seen this and can the color come back? I also noticed on the Pro where you can connect a light, it was completely worn down. It seems the Hellcat Pro has an expiration date.

I think I've cleaned & lubed my hellcat 3 or 4 times in the last 4 years that I carry everyday. It has dust bunny's in it lol
@dp0110 ай бұрын
When you cleaned the slide @2:15, did you put gun cleaner in the striker? I am just very new to this and whatever that metal is in the slide I just cleaned with a brush but made sure that no CLP went into it according to the manual said to not oil the striker but then I see people in KZbin going wild cleaning and oiling everything, am I over paranoid?
@BoomstickTacticalLLC10 ай бұрын
I didn’t put the cleaner in the striker. That’s why I just used a wet patch instead of spraying directly into the slide. It helps holding the slide with the striker facing down to help prevent anything from getting in there.

@@BoomstickTacticalLLC Sounds good, I will do the same. Thanks a lot for making the video, ive got the XMACRO TACOPS but the Hellcat Pro was my other option.

what about the grip? Mine is pretty dirty and its new and never even fired yet..I think its just from it laying around on my desk or the counter..
@Maine-lySurvivin7 ай бұрын
I think they test fire them brand new at the Manufacturer because when I bought mine it came with a target (That had some damn good grouping btw) and it already had some debris in the barrel. I cleaned it up when I brought it home.
@dawsontaylor21876 ай бұрын
@@Maine-lySurvivin yep, Springfield test fires every one, i think its like 7 rounds, to ensure its accurate and functional. The target is the results of the test.

Do you lightly oil the INSIDE of the barrel after cleaning, when putting it back together?
@grayd47529 ай бұрын
most people say not to because it can make carbon buildup stick more, but it probably doesn’t make a huge difference
@barelyevencuda44545 ай бұрын
I’m a little late but with Ballistol, it’s not necessary. It will leave behind the tiniest unnoticeable layer of lubrication on all the metal surfaces it cleans. I don’t apply additional oil to anything I clean with Ballistol unless I really need it well lubed, in which case I’m probably using something heavier like a gun grease anyway

How often should I clean?
@jervez9112 ай бұрын
As often as you want. I do my pistols after every other range time, unless I'm putting a few hundred through in one session. My rifle is done every time. Can't over clean unless you are just soaking it in oil.
