5:09 the field used to be a park for kids years ago, it got vandalised and no one wanted to maintain it so they ripped it out. 9:17 is the valley, it used to be a walkthrough with trees and bushes, some benches, like a small dog park. 10:25 the pub used to be called the tempest, now its just barren land. it was burnt down a fair few times. 11:27 i am one stree over from the road you are on... There is also the pithill that i assume you turned right at 11:19, if you went left and followed the road around then up the ally way, there is a giant field, cars and tipping was rampant there, and also a lot of crime at night. Also if you follow it around its like a world divide on the next area compared to the rest. You will also only see people around at late day to night, most of it is kids being asbos or assaulting/stealing or doing drugs. I don't know how to timestamp properly but this is the best i can do. Holmewood has always been bad, but it used to have a certain respect for people who lived there, these days the kids are out of control and no one seems to care. here is a link regarding the tempest that stood for half a decade with no action taken https ://www.change.org/p/city-of-bradford-council-uk-please-demolish-the-tempest-public-house-in-holmewood

I am dubious abt not enough money to keep it clean... Holmewood might be particularly bad but one can see how the quality of management of council estates varies from council to council. The estates do require more vigorous management than private estates.. But it's not impossible.. One estate I lived on started weekly clearance of abandoned junk items.. It made a lot of difference.. Two men and a van taking the crap to the council's dump.. Once they were on top of it.. It was five/ ten minutes minutes per week per estate. Regular consistency matters. Eg with graffiti.. . Keep on top of it, remove it quick and the amount of new /repeat graffiti soon diminishes..

That church was St Luke's Catholic Church, opened (I think) in 1966 with huge windows to let the natural light in. It was allocated a nice large piece of land for a future parish hall and priest's house, in a spirit of unbridled optimism. The timing couldn't have been worse; the RC Church was in the process of "modernising" and that led to its implosion from sub-culture to weekend hobby, a process which is continuing. Those big windows had too many bricks put through them and so were bricked up -in red brick, contrasting with the original pink ones, and making the place look like a rough Glasgow pub!! The church could never support a priest, the future parish ended up being a small, sad crew of old people and it was shut down in 2007. Nobody was interested in buying it, and it finally got burned down last July.

I live on a ok housing estate and because the local council charge £30 per large item people dump stuff.Seem to see baby car seats in random places.Charity shops cant take them (i worked in one for a while) as they dont know if the seat has been in a car crash. We had a man come in with a kids seat which cost him over £300,and was nice. But my boss said "sorry cant take that".I think housing estates should bring in a roll off skip say once every 6 months, and allow one large item or a few smaller items per home. Not everyone has a car,so not able to get rid of stuff down the local dump.Maybe that would reduce the fly tipping.Just to add,i went down the dump our local dump, and the guy on the entrance tried to charge me £4 each bag.I said "bollox to that" to my dad, drove in and put stuff in the right bins. Then drove out.The guy didnt chase after us.

Many years ago i lived not far from Holmewood with my ex- husband and ten day old baby girl . I was out walking my dog on a sunny Bank Holiday in May and the traffic on the main road was very busy. On my return home, a guy in a range rover in the traffic queue signalled me to step out in front of him. A lad on a motorbike was dashing past the queuing traffic, hit my dog injuring him so badly he had to be put to sleep and hitting myself causing serious injuries. It was a long recovery which included a leg amputation. The motorbike rider was the same age as myself (21) he was three times over the legal alcohol limit; had no drivers licence, no road tax and no insurance.....I'll give you three guesses where he lived at that time

Glad I live on the outskirts of the Bradford district, right on the boarder with Leeds. Not saying it's paradise around where I live as we have our share of poorly raised, anti-social c*nts, but generally speaking, the further away from the city centre you travel, the nicer the places get. The biggest problem now is that the type of people you find in and around the city centre are moving into the nicer areas and bringing their ways with them. Take from that what you will.

The core problem with England is that for at least 25 years, the people who are best positioned to drive change and fix this country have decided to not care. The people aged 30 to 60 have zero interest in holding anyone accountable, zero interest in knowing who runs this country and how it should be run. Scared of confrontation, scared of the unknown, scared to be singled out. And the government have promoted this so that no one ever comes and throws them out. There's whole sections of this country that do not value the ground they are walking on, in any way. They either don't relate to it so it has no worth.
