There's a difference between confidence and cockiness. I saw her on Kelly Clarkson, and she was so full of herself, it was obnoxious. She may be good, but she's not on Kelly's level, and Kelly keeps herself humble and approachable. Probably partly why she is soooooo much more successful than Nicole.

@@icyliciousblue Nope...Kelly is probably the most versatile singer out there. Nicole can never bring in the range of emotion that kelly puts into every song she sings. Yes Nicole is a terrific singer but at times when she goes for those huge note's it comes off as screaming rather singing because she seems to be more concentrated on hitting those high notes rather than emoting. They're almost equals i would say..but the reason kelly is more famous is probably beacuse the way she manages to shoot every word of the song she sings right through the listeners heart...and thats a different level of talent.

Thank you for this reaction, finally! 😍 What alot of people don't know: during her PCD days, she was throwing up almost every single day due to her eating disorder (bulimia). She admitted that her battle with bulimia lasted for 8 goddamn years and it began to affect her vocal chords towards the end of the second PCD world tour, she was forced by her management to seek help because her voice was beginning to deteriorate... I'm glad she's better now.

The one song which always stuck out to me that she performed that is massively underrated was "Memory" from Cats. The emotion displayed in her voice: I felt every single word. So many wonderful and talented people have sang that song, however hers always sticks out to me because of the raw emotion to it.. I become irritated when no one ever talks about it, as if they've forgotten she ever sang it. When she was on X factor she began to irritate me, however when it comes to her singing voice she's absolutely incredible. Whether you like the woman or despise her you can't deny how amazing her vocals are, emotionally and technically

Nicole doesn't have the BEST technique, but her technique is good enough to allow her to ALWAYS hit those high belts (she's been hitting the Don't Cha G5 for 14 years!). She's also a chameleon as you mentioned. There are very few artists who can go from musicals, to pop, to rock, to soft ballads, and sound so good doing it.
