Honey Bee Journal | Tutorial

This video teaches you how to make a journal and bind it with a cinch. If you don't have a cinch, you can use loose leaf binding rings.
This tutorial is made by Tina Guilbert with our "Honey Bee" kit.
Of course you can use other papers to make this craft project as well.
And you can use these printables for an infinite amount of other crafts as well, like many of our other tutorials.

✂ journal pages print on 28lb paper (about 105gsm)
✂ design papers print on ???
✂ wet glue (Tina uses Fabri Tac amzn.to/3UEwa74 because it doesn't warp your paper, and Art Glitter Glue amzn.to/4bDwk4F)
✂ scraper (optional)
✂ corner miter tool (optional) Tina has the one from Colorway Arts
✂ crystal glaze (Nuvo) (optional) amzn.to/49l5j4M
✂ cardboard
✂ corner chomper (for cardboard) (optional)
✂ corner rounder punch (for paper) (optional)
✂ cinch (Tina uses this one amzn.to/49fD4Ev) - alternatively you could use 3 loose leaf binding rings instead

This is a new idea for making a journal that I haven't seen a video using the method. It's a very old idea that I often used to make manuals or reports, etc way back in the 1980's onward. It used a much larger device that you would load your pages along with the covers and could easily punch through 50 pages at a times then another part where you would load the coils then pull a lever which would open the coils the put the pages along with covers into the guides then pull the lever down and the coils would easily close the coilsame in place. I could usual do a dozen books in just a few minutes.it could also be used to load a bound booklet in it and reopen the coiled booklet and add missing or additional pages then being sure to tap and line the holes in the additional pages and either reuse the old coil or a newer larger one and push the arm down to recluse the coils. It would use either metal or plastic coils. I believe that office depot type places, like Staples, use simular equipment for for documents etc that copy or print for customers, but I've never seen an affordable one that could be used for the home like yours. What a great way to make a journal with easy to turn pages.

That is a very pretty journal! I may have to buy the kit, but then I'd want a cinch. I did look at getting a cinch but I currently don't have the room. I'm trying to downsize but I keep purchasing craft supplies. 😂 I like that you glued the pages in half. It solves the problem of what to put on the back of the pages and any order that you place the pages in, will look good.
