I swear when you listen to folks like Ego, Ari, Lianne, NAO, H.E.R. and other SUPER talented soul singers, you just get the impression that you could've heard some of their music in a smoke filled jazz club, and just silence and captivate the audience with their voices, alone. I can't wait for the next album, as well as the ones of my other favorite soul singers, like some of the ones I mentioned. I'm not sure I could do this without them, you know, grow up in my early and mid 20s.

I discovered this beautiful and talented singer some years ago on Soundcloud. I thought, not enough views, listens....but her music, her voice, her style-timeless, jazzy, soulful and colorful. She is wonderful. She was then and is now. That was about 2014 or so, not even exactly sure. I asked her if I could remix her songs and she was good with it. I remixed 4 of them and never released them. A good thing for many of you because my house vibes would have taken her down a different path before wonderful experiences like this new album could happen. Then there's this new album. It is simply a modern classic. It is everything a great album should be. Remember how that Solange album hit when you first heard it? That is the Ego experience. Remember how Jill Scott and Erykah Badu's first albums hit you? That is the way this hits. I am putting our Sister in that class of great artists. It is SO good to see her doing her thing here. I worried she might be missed for some time....but happy she has a label home, that she was discovered again, and that many of you will find her music just as delightful as I did. And do. And I will seek my Sister out for some shows for 2022 so watch for that. And yeah, those house remixes I did? They are in my mix shows....we'll see about commercial releases. 11
