@@F1ENDS Back to the beginning of the year VCARB was touted as not being just Red Bulls junior team and that they were looking to top five finishes. Now Daniel didn't personally bring sponsor money, but part of the lure for Visa and Hugo Boss was Daniel being part of the team, given his popularity in the US. Then Red Bull changed their minds and said they wanted VCARB to be a driver development team. There are rumors circulating that the sponsors tried to get Red Bull to keep Daniel on.

@williamlewis1592Ай бұрын
I guess you didn't hear but Redbull had offered Daniel the same money they had offered Verstappen to stay in the team. It wasn't the money he chased, it was respect. He wanted to be treated equally but it was very clear this was never going to happen and that Verstappen would be continuously favoured even though Daniel was the better driver. To entice Verstappen to sign a long term deal he was told by Marko in 2017 that if he signed the team would be centered around him, even though Daniel was beating him in the championships they partnered together and would have done that again in 2018 if not for 8 mechanical failures that Daniel's car had suffered. As for Verstappen being superior to Perez, well go back to the first 4 races in 2023. Verstappen won 2 and attained 2 second places, Perez won 2 and attained a second and a third. Then suddenly Perez seemed to had forgotten how to drive...or did he? Earlier this year Verstappen had won 7 out of the first 9 or 10 races. The FIA suddenly announces a clarification of a brake setup regulation..Redbull's performance suddenly falls away. At the time there was the suggestion that Redbull may have been using an asymetric braking system (which is illegal) as far back as 2022. Could it have been that Marko didn't want Perez to get in the way of Verstappen's aspirations of becoming a multi world driver's champion and that asysmetric braking system was removed from Perez's car after the 4th race in 2023?
