Pro tip for flight simmers who want more accuracy. Put your heels on the ground and steer with your toe tips using a lever motion. You'll notice a lot less jerkiness in your runway centerline control. That's how it's done in real life!

As of August (two months ago) there was still a dispute over who owns Honeycomb. There are two groups both claiming to own the name and the products. Which leaves me curious who made Squirrel's pedals and whether they're real Honeycomb -- whatever "real" means.

£340 ouch!. Was looking forward to seeing these as I own the Alpha and Bravo controls. I ended up 3D printing and made my own pedals with an Arduino and some aluminium extrusion for about £40 all in, in the time I was waiting for these to be released. Feels like If they were sub £200 I'd be tempted but £340 is a bit much to make me upgrade. The hand controls were great value amongst competitors. Don't feel I can say the same about the pedals. Appreciate the review squirrel.

Nice video as always, and the pedals look OK to me. I managed to get hold on a set of good old Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals which also have metal adjustable foot rests by the way. For €50 used quite a steal if I may say so. Sure they have analogue potentiometers and don't feature the more accurate HAL-effect sensors which are inside the Charlie Rudder Pedals, but the control is fine enough for me 🙂

As a desktop flight simmer, I have never had rudder pedals but just today ordered the Logiteck G Saitek Pro peddles. At £139 they are affordable. The Honeycomb are just too expensive as my first set of peddles but may take another look at them in a years time if I decide to buy a rig. But then I will probable get the peddles you already have on your rig for the money. Thank you Paul for the vid 👍

I’m afraid the Logitech/Saitek are an old design and rubbish I’m afraid, I had a set, I know. You would have been better off saving for something that isn’t entry level as none of them are any good. But seriously, a flight simmer without pedals isn’t even flight simming.

@@HighDefBNG You will love the MFGs with damper for heli flight and the extension to the Warthog will make a lot of difference to your fine control. VR makes depth perception and overall enjoyment about 100 times better for helis... so you are all set to go. I went from the standard footplates to the Combat pedals on my MFGs. I never looked back. Foot placement is exactly like it would be in say, a JetRanger so you can have heels on the floor or in the air depending on preference and the toe brakes can be used for something like the HPG H160 etc but don't get in the way otherwise. Do you know which factory your pedals came from, the original factory or the one that is used by the partner that essentially bankrupted Honeycomb but insists that it owns the brand name? From my understanding of the research done by KZbin videographers, those from the original factory are better. For example, the pretender, which still has the Website, had to reverse engineer the circuit board, and the result looks slipshod. If the SN begins with SA it was made in the original factory. If the SN starts with RY, it's from the factory that had to copy the company's founder's design and came up with an inferior version. Ironically, the ersatz party, Snakebyte, claims that the founder is selling a "counterfeit" Charlie. As revealed by independent researchers, that's false, and the ones sold by Snakebyte via their Honeycomb website are actually the counterfeit ones. BESIDES the new circuit board, they have substandard elastic bands providing the felt resistance to pedal movement; those bands have been shown to fail earlier than those on the original Charlie. A buyer would want to be sure he's getting a Charlie from the original factory with a SN starting with "SA." A third party retailer should be able to tell buyers the source of Charlie's they're selling
