Hi there, Thanks for the video, however I have a Question as Im using DCS and then from the 18th MSFS. How do I spoof the existence of one of the sims at install (MSFS X / Steam addition) Having great difficulty as a newbie to sims when trying to setup my honeycomb yoke. Also I cant find any profiles for the DCS SU-25T for the honeycomb. In addition to that I was hoping to find a graphic where it shows all the number of the key. Many Thanks, Ian

A long time since you did this and both Alpha and Bravos are now coming on the market with a changed Aerosoft configuration- from the one you used in the video - and is even more difficult to understand - without a PHD in semantics Any chance you could take a relook at configuring P3D V4 and V5 with Alpha and Bravo working together

Awesome article. And I agree, the p3d aerosoft application is trash. When i set it up in xplane, which i actually dont fly too often it was easy and painless..p3d though....almost a headache.

hi, i now have the honeycomb throttle quadrant to add to the honeycomb yoke. I need to find out once i have set up the Throttle for single engine GA [which i have done] how should i configure the honeycomb yoke. Since the throttle has flaps, trim, etc, it would seem i should modify the yoke setup. Is there a you tube on what to do when you have BOTH honeycomb devices? Or can you make one? thanks

So I just got my yoke, went to the Aerosoft website, noticed that the DL for 2020 is really just one for the lighting. So when you say "just click on the icon on the desktop" all I have is an icon that updates the software. I do not have anything for set-up

Hi Bill, the yoke is directly supported by MSFS so no drivers needed for this. You can if you want download the throttle config for the lights as it does have a default config for the yoke as well. My channel shows a number of videos giving options for this configurator etc. Regards

If your yoke is in neutral position, neither pushing nor pulling, will the plane pitch up? I just plugged in a honeycomb yoke and i have to keep a constant forward push on the yoke to keep it level. When i relax to the neutral position it'll pitch way up. I'm not a pilot and it seems ridiculous to have to fight it like that....

Orange Betsy , hello, the aircraft you are flying will have a trim wheel or something similar. Adjust the trim of the aircraft up and down so it flys straight and level with the yoke centralised. You can then use the yoke as normal and for minor adjustments. Many pilots will configure the trim up and trim down function to the left most toggle switch on the yoke. Trimming the aircraft is also necessary when flying in the real world. Hope this helps.

Eric C , this can be done, although the results are not always realistic. You can configure in Xplane the start functions to some of the buttons or switches. Although I have not tried it you may be able to configure auto in the same way. Regards

@@ericc7936 , Make sure your yoke is connected and start Xplane. Go to settings then joystick. When you move the starter switches on the yoke you will see the switch and current function highlighted. To change the function click on edit next to the function shown on the right hand side. In the top search bar type in what you are looking for. Engine start will show options to set the switch position to auto start for example. Or type in starter and you can set individual engine starts. Choose the function you want and click OK/Save. Eric C , hello. If you are referring to the Majestic Dash 8 in P3D I’m afraid you can not easily achieve this as the program does not use the default assignments for some of the switches etc. You would need to find out what those assignments are, and they are not readily accessible, then use FSUIPC to configure.

Eric C , you only need FSUIPC if your using FSX or P3D. Otherwise set up in Xplane joystick config. tab as shown and save as a profile. You will need to assign separate switches for each engine. You may find it easier to use the mouse for engine start up and assign the switches to other functions such as trim and lights etc.

Eric C , set the yoke/joystick setting in Xplane back to default....not Xplane itself. When you go to settings and then joystick, select the desired input device and then set that device back to default.

I just bought this to use with my P3Dv4.5 sim . Not much problem programming it, but for the life of me I cannot get the ailerons and Elevator to work correctly. They work fine with the default aircraft in P3D, but a lot of my addon aircraft I just cannot get them to work. There is no consistency. Don't know if it's a P3D problem or a Honeycomb yoke problem.

@@SimHangerFS I just wanted to let you know that after hours and hours of trying to find out what is going on with my flight controls, I believe I have found a conflict with Chaseplane. To explain what I have been experiencing would take quite a bit of space but I have found that when I open P3D and chaseplane is opened also I must close chaseplane then reopen it and all is well. If I don't do that all kind of different things happen with my flight controls on all of my payware airplanes. Thanks for your help. Just wanted to let you know that I "Think" I have it figured out.

@@SimHangerFS Unfortunately, the problem is back. My question is are you able to fly any payware aircraft? Carenado, Alabeao, Quality Wings, or anything other than the default P3D airplanes. I just got a reply from Honeycomb support about the problem and this is what he said. "Thanks for reaching out to us. We are aware the some premium aircrafts have some issues with the yoke. We have spoken with our contacts and they have mentioned that developed design their planes vastly different than from the usual default planes. This can cause issues with the configuration settings. Some premium planes, for example, can have different variables than default, which causes the yoke to do different things than what you'd expect them, to do. Though it seems like closing Chaseplane fixes your issue, what I'm thinking that somehow, your configuration settings are being changed somehow. " If you are able to fly payware airplanes than I must be doing something wrong. Can you please explain to me how I can check and see as you suggested, that my yokeinput is not overriding my p3D settings? All of my key assignments work perfect. Just my flight controls don't. Thanks for your help, I greatly appreciate it. Your video seems to be clearer than most that I've found on KZbin.

Rodger C I am able to use third party aircraft with the yoke no problem, in fact I have not come across any that don’t work. It sounds to me that you have some configuration files corrupted. To eliminate yokeinput uninstall it. You don’t need it, you can and should configure your yoke in P3D using the axis settings. There are few other things to check. Make sure that there are no keys configured to your axis that are causing a conflict. If you have FSUIPC (payware version) installed check there for conflicts. Make sure the connector between the body and the yoke itself is connected correctly. Plug the yoke directly into your pc. Delete all files in the following directory....get this right or a reinstall will be necessary.....c drive...users....your name....appdata....local....Lockheed Martin....Prepar3d v4. You should delete the files and the three directories you find there....controls....effects....shaders. Make sure P3D is not running. Restart P3D and it will rebuild these files and sub directories. Please note you do this at your own risk.

Anthony Cooper ,hi Anthony, P3D is another sim based on FSX, Prepar3d from Lockheed Martin. You can configure this yoke directly in FSX -SE as you would any joystick or other input device. No need for any other drivers. Regards

ratrod shaggy , you don’t really need drivers, just plug-in and configure in your sim. Xplane 11 is already configured by default. For P3D I recommend you do the same. Yesterday a person from Honeycomb recently posted on their Facebook page that the reason some yokes have a deadzone, and some do not, is that some of the early production units were calibrated incorrectly at the factory, giving them a deadzone they should not have. My yoke from the original preorder has a 5mm deadzone in elevator, and a 9° deadzone in aileron (5% of total rotation!). Also, I have found out that the yoke has a built-in "hidden" calibration routine that can be invoked to recalibrate with no deadzone at all - but those that have been told this procedure have been instructed to not make it public, as they are concerned a user could screw up their yoke even worse.

Honeycomb did a good job with this yoke. HOWEVER, they did a shit job and forgot about the 3rd axis.
