The music is way off for this. I was in the building and both were on beat for this one. The hollowback in the first round for example was on beat and he changed direction because Focus moved to the side to try and distract him. It was an amazing moment live that this video completely doesn't capture. Focus dope, but Hong 10 clearly won this live.

don't get me wrong Hong 10 is amazing ...but i cannot stand his fans...they have like tunnel vision...where they only see Hong 10...they overrate Hong 10 so much and shower him with praise is almost disrespectful to the other bboy hes versing...like his opponent's moves and skills don't matter/exist ...Hong 10 could lose a match but his fans will never accept it not to mention Hong 10 has 0 musicality...he can dance on beat/time...he knows when to go fast and when to go slow but he does not feel the music at all...its just like a bunch of endless tricks....like a big run on sentence...but like I said what he does is amazing and he is one of the best bboys ever and could arguably be #1 for some people.

I don't know what the hell Focus was thinking with those rounds. His difficulty was magnitudes below Hong 10s. In all honesty, anyone with rhythm could do what he did. Hong 10 displayed a level of skill and musicality that has obviously taken years to craft. You could tell who wanted it more.

Breakdance should be a mixture of footwork dynamics and powermoves, everything else is shit for me. Only footwork dynamics is not cool and only powermoves also not cool. The mix and combination of both this is make a good breakdancer

Focus is old school. He uses multiple footwork dynamics. His footwork variations are unbelievable. Judges didnt seem to see that thats why he lost.

Nah, Focus's footwork doesn't seem as hard or as complex. It's just fast (like any other bboy at the red bull bc one), and the reason he lost this battle was because he resorted only to footwork and some general freezes. There's barely any power moves or fancy freeze transitions in his set like Hong 10 had. And ay, Hong 10 has crazy footwork too, although not as much power in this battle's set either. But, you can't really win battles with just footwork now, can you? Just as how you can't win battles with just power moves. Well, sometimes you can but it doesn't happen too often for us to say it's always the case. And "flowing with the beat" or "hitting the beat" is what's primarily aimed at during a battle, but breakers gotta be able to ENTERTAIN the audiences too with crazy shit since breakdancing was meant to be a hyped up sort of entertainment from the beginning. Just watching you ONLY walk and crawl on the floor with the beat doesn't really bring the hype or awesomeness. Gotta fly in the air too or in Hong 10's case in this battle, glide on your head.

there are many elements of footwork you are not considering. well first of all, his footwork is objectively relatively difficult, not just fast (it's not even that fast really, compared to some floorgangz guys). I feel like you should recognize this if you are a bboy, even if you don't like focus. that part isn't really up for argument. you also aren't considering aspects of footwork like flow, level changes, etc, in which focus' footwork is vastly superior to that of hong10, who just does tons of sweeps, which aren't very hard, as filler until he gets into a freeze. not that I am saying focus is a better bboy than hong10, I think the reverse actually. you are right in that bringing a more total package is going to win you competitions, but it's not because bboying is supposed to pander to the crowd or something - see Menno winning bc one. judges aren't deciding their votes based on who gets more cheers lol. it's more because there are various aspects to the dance and judges try to weigh them equally, hence a bboy who also weighs them equally is more likely to win.
