@@xiaolongwang6657 Maybe you are right. But Attenborough didn't talk about Tibet from the perspective of politics. He is a naturalist; he was talking about the environment. The amazing culturally rich museums, A night life 2nd to none (Oh the memories at lkf...), The really amazing and diverse group of people you meet, Absolutely gorgeous skyline and equally gorgeous nature hikes, public parks and beaches, The reliant MTR and the buses that run all night to ensure you'd get home safe....I can really keep going until I get to the max limit. I used to visit Hong Kong quite a lot between the early 80’s till the end of the 90’s. I was a flight crew then and Hong Kong was indeed one of my favorite stop over cities across the world. The vibrancy and pulsating culture and tradition amongst such a diverse society. I’ve also made quite a few local friends in Hong Kong during my tour of duty whenever I get a chance to stop over. The hospitality and charm of Hongkongers amazes me a great deal and has made an impeccable imprint in my life. Unfortunately ever since the umbrella movement and the kill the Bill protest in 2019, many of the friends I know and the people I’ve been acquainted to at one point in time have left the colony. Many changes have taken place in Hong Kong as new laws are being enforced from time to time to clamp down on anti-ccp movements, anti-ccp sentiments or anything at all pertaining to shedding bad light on the ccp. Though my last stop over in Hong Kong was the early part of 2000 where i transit there for two nights from Hainan island before homeward bound and needless to say a wave of nostalgia swept over me when I saw Hong Kong again. That was and will perhaps be my last memory of the awesome Hong Kong I’ve come to experience personally in my lifetime. 🙏

China is Earth's workshop. The British empire that build that city is gone , the UK cant even solve its own parlament , let alone help its former colony. The US? - Trump can talk as much he want ,but he cant do anything because he knows that China has a loaded gun - 28% of US forain dept (1.12 Trilion USD). If Chaina wants , they can ruin the US econamy in 1 day - just dump all that goverment bonds to the stock market and watch how the USD becomes worthless. Who esle is left? India? - they cant even solve their major problems, let alone save someone esle. It pains me ,but HK is on her own - nobody is going to help them. In Europe -the protests are not even covered in the media (in Bulgaria - just 1 short news article and that is it), look at the EU news agensies - blackout.

@@mowtow90 US bonds held by China isn't a big deal. Both Japan and China want to keep the value of the dollar higher than the value of their own currencies, because they want to export. Drop the value of the dollar and everyone around the world will flock to US suppliers(goods and services). Then the US will be the export king and shitty plastic manufacturing will move back to the US. In the current state the US economy is growing while the Chinese economy is about to go bust as manufacturing moves out of China to other parts of the world. The US isn't reliant on other countries as much as you think. The US economy is driven by advancement in idea's mostly. The US can have those idea's manufactured any where. China can't have advancement in idea's if people are scared to talk about things openly with each other. The US can debate every aspect of every idea about everything until the best idea is then moved forward. This is the reason other countries especially those countries that do not have freedom of speech will never beat the US.

I lived in China and Hong Kong for a couple of years in the mid 1970s. The people in Hong Kong at that time had a great fear of being handed back to China. I met many wonderful people in Hong Kong and a few in China, although the only people I usually spoke to in China were interpreters, Chinese Teacher, taxi drivers, staff and a few others, normal citizens were too frightened to speak to me except for the children who wanted to practice their English, and they all called me Joe. There were numerous reports of Hong Kong locals being kidnapped and taken to China on boats. I had an English friend who worked for the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation who was kidnapped and thrown in a Shanghai jail for eight months during a dispute between China and Britain, after which he immigrated to New Zealand.

At our border Mainland has everything they got to take over Taiwan. Either by cooperation or war we have to decide. Taiwan has been going downhill since martial law has been lifted. We need to enforce our military, economy and technology to keep up with mainland China and we're not hitting our targets Becuase the current government is too focused on political correction. If people of Taiwan can't have a happy life, people will support the CCP if things look bad there. My advice is thst everyone should vote with their brains, keep CCP at an arms length and strengthen our economy through them. And build train our own defences in case of war. I don't believe there can be one country two systems, there's no way ccp would allow that. The more people cries about indepence from ROC, PRC would gladly take over by force if necessary. @boshi liu Hong Kong is one of the great cities of Asia. Along with Singapore it showcases, simultaneously, the greatness of the Common Law and the Chinese people. When bestowed with the blessings of the Common Law, the Chinese people can build cities, economic hubs, and communities unparalleled anywhere on earth. Unfortunately most of them are subjected to the rule of self-interested and self-serving men, who have their personal, rather than people's, interests at heart. As such, great cities like Hong Kong and Singapore are, sadly, the exception and not the norm in the world.

Hong Kong is light years ahead of places like Shanghai because of the British. As is Singapore. This an embarrassment to the CCP. If the British had stayed longer in Shanghai then it would also be better. But no matter how it tries to catch up, it will never be as good. Because of the cultural influence of the British that the CCP can never match. Keep strong Hong Kong. The British won't forsake you. If this law is passed, your movement could cause Western intervention more than any other issue. This has high agenda in western news.

@@johnlacey3857 someone who can't speak Chinese means that person doesn't fully understand what's going on. The only thing they do know is what English-speakers tell them and what Western media says. A lot of Hong Kongers are pro China. I am friends with quite a few of them who are pro China. And no, they're not "bribed" like Winston and Matt claim. They are real people. I have friends who are party members and work in local governments. A good friend of mine works in a state foreign affairs office. Hardcore CCP supporter and party member. He's not oppressing people. He generally looks out for China's future. People like Winston would never know people like that, would never be friends with them and wouldn't care. They have a superiority complex when it comes to the Chinese government. But when you accuse them of that, they just call you a coward and say "I married a Chinese woman so that's proof I'm not a bigot." Sorry but that doesn't work. I've offered to sit down and explain to these guys all of their misconceptions, but they're not interested in the truth. They only want to push their ideas. I live an hour away from where Winston stays. I've offered to go confront him like he challenged us in the video when he called us trolls. Yet he refuses. Why is that?
@johnlacey3857
@johnlacey3857 5 жыл бұрын
Hanman Seems you’re trying to subtly divert the conversation from the subject of the *unconscionable* HK extradition bill (clearly driven by the CCP) to the credibility of Mr Sturzil. I’m sure there are some decent people who are also CCP party members, but that doesn’t mean the CCP is any less evil. You say you know a lot of HK people who are pro-China. I’m sure you do; I’m pro-China and pro-Chinese as well. However I’m very much anti-CCP, and recent events indicate over one million HK people are too. I’m confused about your statement about Winston... you say he’s against the Chinese government - and I think you’re right. But accusing him of bigotry against Chinese people is completely different. His response seems logical - if he were bigoted against Chinese people, why would he marry a Chinese wife, and live amongst Chinese people all these years? I’m pretty sure his problem is with the CCP, not ordinary Chinese people. Same with me, and I’m sure with many others. Your disdain of bigotry is laudable. But then I find it confusing that you would use the expression “doesn’t speak Chinese” to describe someone who doesn’t know what’s going on. Implication of course being that people who don’t speak Chinese are stupid. Gee, that’s not bigoted at all! So... back to the real subject of the video... whether you think Winston is misguided or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the CCP is about to implement this grossly unconscionable law in Hong Kong; civilized people everywhere should stand up, cry foul, and push back. I feel sorry for all the HK people and their families who will have their lives impacted by this unjust law. And I feel sorry for all the 五毛党who are brainwashed and have the truth kept from them.
