I have used this recipe for years. I lost it. So glad I found it here. My son’s wrestling team used to have me cook this at all their banquets. However I didn’t use ginger. Will do that next time.

This is a simple and delicious dish, yet requires little utensils. The vinegar is believed to break down the 'calcium ' of the bone and commonly consumed by new mothers this way.... Pork Knuckles in sweet vinegar , ginger and a boiled egg. Just a note, like BBQ pork, too lean the meat will easily be too dry and chewy. If you don't/can't eat fat, just discard when you eat.

I know this is old but if anyone is interested, this is the recipe they use for Americanized boneless spare ribs. They just add red food coloring to it. So if you ever tried making the boneless spare ribs at home and it doesn't taste the same as what you get in the Chinese restaurants It's because everyone confuses this recipe for the Chinese "Char Sui" recipe. That recipe is a bit different and is why your boneless ribs don't taste the same.

Is sugar really necessary in EVERYTHING,
@letscookhongkongfood15667 жыл бұрын
nothing is a must. You can skip sugar if you like.
@lilychau16715 жыл бұрын
In all Asia cuisine, people think sugar is necessary. However, i think most recipes are over doing it, i always used 1/4 of recommended amount in my Thai cooking to balance out the sweet, salty and citrusy taste because i always find it very sweet, particularly in Thai recipes such as pad thai and thai curry. I don't use sugar in my other Asia dishes as i find it unnecessary.
