I passed by this place every time I walked to the HK Stadium. They have the same menu for 40 years+ and to this day it's still super delicious.

Love that you and your wife make these videos. I used to get hot dogs and hamburgers after school here all the time growing up. The lady taking orders is still there from ~20 years ago! But the lady making the hot food is new (...to me lol)

Thanks for sharing that about your childhood- that’s amazing that it’s still the same lady serving! The taste is so old school- bet it has hardly changed one bit!

The Hong Kong style hot dog growing up in the 60s I remembered was served with a similar sweet bun with cucumber, lettuce and tomato with s special sauce.

I stayed just a couple of streets away from this place when I was last in HK. I must have walked right past it, on the way to Happy Valley Racecourse, without realising it was there. At least I know for next time. Looking forward to the next Sam Eats it video 😀

Sam, hotdog is my most favourite food. I recall always buying and eating hot dogs whenever i visited New York especially along the Park Ave, This Danish Bakery should be better than those selling in New York on the street stalls by Quality and Value ($5 USD) , yummy !

I'm glad you love hotdogs, Johnson! Yes, these ones don't look as grand as their American counterparts, but the taste is so delicious and decadent! Great value too!

I wish they would have this shop in the UK! Most of our fast food in the UK is sh!t and most bread you get is terrible.
@HongKongHoods Жыл бұрын
It’s definitely different here! I think the best bread in the UK can be found at local town markets.
@kurlexchoi3 жыл бұрын
It would be nice if they have add ketchup in the hotdog like in the pork chop bun. They both have mayonnaise or creamy butter in the bread. I definitely would go for that chicken leg. And all his paper bags got lots of grease.
@HongKongHoods3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You can ask for ketchup in the hotdog too if you like :) And the chicken leg was huge and delicious!
@chankk45602 жыл бұрын
The chicken leg may not be the best in Hong Kong, but for such affordable price, it is in the top tier of that.

Honestly, Danish Bakery is just over-ranked...selling its nostalgic image instead of quality food is my only comment. Instead, I do recommend Sze Sun Hamburger (時新漢堡飽) or Tim Fook Snacks (添福小食). They really show their passion to pursue better quality food as always. Let's try!

Interesting place and I'll give it a go, but to look at, that dog looks very disappointing. Maybe the taste really is as good as you make out though. Dogs in Cheyenne, Wyoming have way more on them. Chicken is a lovely color though.
@HongKongHoods3 жыл бұрын
Indeed, the hot dogs aren’t much to look at, but they are tasty! They’re definitely different from western ‘dogs though, so bear that in mind… rather than a meal in themselves they’re more of a quick bite (also reflected in how cheap they are). The stand out part, rather than the sausage, is the freshly baked bread. We hope you enjoy!

@HongKongHoods3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The hotdog's appearance certainly belies its deliciousness (it's all in the bread!)...and was the world really without frankfurters until as recently as 1852!? :)
