This is one of my go-to dishes when I host a party or just for any day.
For two reasons: It is easy and quick to make and it is one of those more expensive items.
Hong Kong Style Garlic Butter Shrimp
Serves: 2-3 people
Prep time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb. ( of Large Shrimps (size 10-12/lb.) or Prawns
( deveined and pat dry)
4 cloves of garlic
Green onions for garnish
Cornstarch for coating
Seasoning for shrimp marinade:
3/4 tsp of Garlic powder
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 tsp White pepper
Sauce:
1 tsp. Light Soy sauce
1 tsp. Ketchup
1 tsp. Oyster sauce
1 tsp. of Chinese black sweetened vinegar or Balsamic vinegar
2 TBSP Orient Worcestershire sauce
( if regular Worcestershire is used, put 2 tsp instead plus 1 TBSP water)
2 tsp. Shao Xing wine
1 TBSP Brown sugar
Oil
2 TBSP Butter

Japanese fried rice
2 bowls of cooked Japanese rice/ Sushi rice
2 Eggs
Any vegetables such as onions, bell peppers
Oil to fry
Seasonings:
1 tsp. No MSG Chicken powder/ 2 tsp. Light soy sauce
1 tsp. Salt
( If you like a darker color of fried rice, use 2 TBSP Light soy sauce
and no salt)
1/2 tsp sugar
